THE ESCAPE

"It's too dangerous!"

"We have no choice Ivanka. We need to do this."

"What if he dies in the capsule Ivan?! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!"

"He can't and will never die, Ivanka. I put there plenty of Carbon Dioxide in the tank for him to breathe. It will be enough for 2 days."

"Ivan." Ivanka began to weep silently. Ivan stares at her, with sadness in his face. His eyes brown. His hair covers his left eye. His face pale white. He didn't eat for days. His lips pale red.

"Trust me, Ivanka. I know what I am doing. It's for our son's." He began hugging Ivanka tightly. His tears began to fall.

"Ivan. Please make sure our son is safe."

"Oh yes. He'll be safe. He's just like his father." Ivan went to his son Alex. He touches his face with his big hands. "Someday you'll be as great as your father. You will learn how to discipline yourself. You will become brave enough to do your responsibilities." He kisses his forehead. He then grabbed a syringe with 2 microchips inside. On the left, is the "atmosphere chip", on the right, the "memory chip". He injected these to Alex's back. He turns to Ivanka. "This memory chip records anything he sees and remember. With this, he'll survive outside. He'll remember us, and the great things I discover outside, and he will use it for good."

"Ivan....let me have my son for one last time..." She went to his son. She carries him. Alex started to cry. "Don't worry, mommy will be fine." She can't stop crying. "Mommy will always be in your heart." She kisses him. The sadness overcomes her feelings. But still she tries to smile. She grabbed a necklace, together with a picture of them, and wears it to Alex. "Do not forget us Alex. We lo-"

The front door smashed open. It's the Anti-Martians. Ivan quickly grabs his ray gun and shoots them. "Put him into the capsule, and turn on the engine! I'll cover you! Now Ivanka!"

Ivanka ran as fast as she can to the capsule. She quickly puts Alex inside and closes the door immediately. She then drew a heart in the window of the capsule, and then turns on the engine. She was about to be shot by those AMs, when a familiar Martian came and blasted off those intruders.
Ivan turns around and was surprised to see his bestfriend for life: Ilyich Antonov.

Ilyich is a tall man, with a tough face. His eyes were dark brown. He wears glasses. His lips red. And small.

"Those AMs are everywhere. It's too dangerous now. Where's Alex? Did you send him to Earth?" Ilyich said to Ivan.

"Yes." He uttered.

The sound of the blast of capsule roars the entire house. Ivanka stared crying. Ivan started weeping.

"I know what it feels like, Ivan. I sent my daughter Laika on Earth too." He then pats him on his shoulder.

Ivanka whispered:"I love you Alex. Be safe out there."

It was indeed her last moments she saw her son.

Alex flew for a few days. He started crying all alone in space. In the 3rd day, he reached Earth's atmosphere. He smiles as he sees the new planet.

Not a while later, he reached Earth. He lands on a cornfield, who is owned by an old man named Markova. Markova saw what happened, and quickly went into the crash site. He hears a loud scream of a baby. Markova then found Alex.

"Oh! What a cute boy you are *laughs* From now on, I am going to take care of you. I will be your father, your mother, your grandfather, and your grandmother!"  He said it in an old, not-so-high pitch tone, and rough voice.

He carries Alex into his arms. Markova then saw a necklace in Alex's neck. He saw the word "Alex".

"Oh. So you're Alex, eh? Hello Alex! I am Markova Borodin. I am now your father, mother, grandfa-wait..." He noticed a picture inside Alex's pants. He saw a familiar guy.

"Ivan." He startled. "He's dead." He stared at Alex. "Boy, are you lucky! I know Ivan! He went here 34 years ago! HAHA! What a coincidence!!"

Alex smiles at him.

"HAHA! what a cute baby Ivan has. Come on, let's take you home." Ivan smiled and went home.
