What Christmas was all about (Prose)

When I was a kid
All was majestic
And every year
My favorite season
Was Christmas.

When it was Christmas
I'd get so excited
We'd put "it's beginning to look like Christmas"
And I was so delighted!

I couldn't contain my glee
And year after year with mommy
I'd daydream of the day I'd spend this magical day
With my own family.

The lights lighted my heart
The tree would be my own art
Decorations would not be a lark
Everything was perfect
As if by design..

As I grew up though
The joy I used to feel
Hung itself with a rope
Because I lost hope...

Every Christmas lost its magic
Every Christmas was pure idiotic...
And I'm now crying
Because even if it's childish
I never got that dream I wanted...
A merry christmas with the family, filled with love and it's spirit
I'm just alone and no one to hold
But don't mind my drama, I'm just old...
