Waterfall

Chapter 1

When I awake , the smell of bacon and eggs fills my mouth with saliva. There is a knock on the door. "Lady Yuikutsu, it is time for breakfast." says a maid. I flip off my covers and head to my wardrobe. I pull out a dark blue gown with no sleeves and a high neck. I let my long blond hair fall to my shoulders. My name is Yuikutsu Kotsuki. I am sixteen. I go to my jewelry box and pull out sapphire earrings and necklace.

I walk down the corridor and look at the pictures on the walls. They are mostly of the kings and queens that came before my mother and father. There are are two pictures of them in the entire castle, one in my bedroom, and one in the Royalty Hall. I elegantly slip down the stairs to find the chef in the kitchen, my mother and father in the dining room, and the butler at the door. My white cat, U~ōtāfōru , meaning waterfall is licking my dad's plate.He is my familiar.He jumped into my lap as soon as I sat down. I pick him up and put him on the emerald encrusted floors.He morphs into his human form and stands."Purr purr,princess." he says. "Oh, shut it Lucien." That is what we call him in his human form because we do not want non-magical beings to be suspicious."Dang I see someone has been thinking about the upcoming coronation. Salty much." Lucien replies with a smirk. He morphs back into a cat and runs away."Good morning sweety, how is the fitting coming along?" my father asks trying to lighten the mood."Can we talk about anything but that stupid coronation." I yell as I slam my chair back and stomp up to my room.I throw myself on my bed and scream into my pillow.I hear footsteps coming up the stairs and through the corridor. I stop screaming. Who could that be? Probably my mother coming to lecture me but when they open the door I am surprised who it is. Lucien. "What do you want." I whine "It's my job to advise, serve, and protect you or whatever. So what kind of advice are you looking for?" Lucien says turning into a cat jumping on my bed and turning back. "Lucien just.... just go." I say weakly. " I can't. Your dearest mummy wants me to tell you that your next suitor is here.You must come downstairs." Lucien replies as he transforms into a cat and leaves my room. "UUU GGG HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.FINE." I say exiting my room as well. I stomp down the corridor and slide down the stair's railing. When I get downstairs there is a man sitting in my dining chair. "Darling, come, come meet Shadow Black, your cat's brother." my mother said with a ghost of a smile.

The man turns around and looks at me with a dashing smile. He was handsome. He stands up and pulls the chair back. " I am sorry my dearest princess, your mother let me sit here until I had met you, but that is no excuse for using something that belonged to you without your permission." Shadow says. "Thank you for apologizing, but I do not find the need for a husband at my age, don't you agree mother." I say Knowing that if she answered my way, there would be distrust between my mother and the excuse for a man standing beside me. But if she answered her way the prince would think that she is an overprotective mother who makes all of my decisions for me. U~ōtāfōru crawls into the room and turns human. However, he is in a suit , not his normal dark gray t-shirt and blue jeans. " Why hello brother, have you come to take me back to the kingdom yet? I have been very well behaved. Haven't I , Princess? Please do tell him ho..." "No. Lucien, mother says you can not come home until you've lived out your one hundred year sentence." Shadow says cutting Lucien off. Lucien morphs into a cat ,swipes at his brother's leg, and runs away.The prince yowls in pain. I however, smirk.My family insists on on us all talking in my bedroom. We walk up the stairs and down the hall. We reach my bedroom and all sit on my bed."Darling there is something we must tell you..............." My father is looking guilty. It's the same look he gets when he is keeping something from mother. " Yuikutsu dear, when Shadow arrived he asked for your hand in marriage, and...... well............" my father pauses, running his hands through his hair. "We have accepted his proposal for you, and the wedding is in three weeks." my mother finishes. "WHAT. HOW COULD YOU. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS WITHOUT TALKING TO ME FIRST. YOUR ALWAYS MAKING DECISIONS FOR ME AND I AM TIRED OF IT . I OWN ME!" I scream. Shadow grabs my hands and says " It is ok dearest, we will both have our happy ever after, ok"

He leans in to kiss me. I pull away and yank my hands back. " WHAT IF I DON'T WANT MY HAPPY EVER AFTER!!!!!!!" I scream. "Young lady, I do not like this new tone of yours." My mother says standing up. I am crying now. "Y...you are the WORST MOTHER EVER. I hate you. I HATE YOU ALL!GET OUT!ALL OF YOU!OUT NOW!" I scream.They all leave closing the door behind them.I am trembling. "Lucien!" I cry out. Tears slip out of the corners of my crimson red eyes. He bursts through the door. "My princess are you okay?" He asks with a worried tone in his voice."I am going to run away and I wanted to ask you...will you run away with me?" I ask."Of course princess, it is my duty to accompany you anywhere." He says. I wrap my arms around his neck and he embraces me as well. We sit there for a while, but then we pull apart. "Go pack we leave in an hour.Meet back here." I give him a kiss on the cheek.He leaves and I back all my gowns, shoes, jewelry and even a little more. About an hour later,Lucien comes in with one suitcase.It is magical suitcase.I have two magic suitcases. "Uh... don't you think that's a bit much?" Lucien asks. "Only the necessaries." I reply with a smirk, and with that I grabbed his hand and lept out the window.
