[ Daichi Sawamura X Reader ]
Nekoma has one of the best male high school volleyball teams Daichi Sawamura has ever seen. When he and his team visit Nekoma for a last-minute practice game with both Karasuno's male and female volleyball teams, he fin...
Daichi was surprised when Takeda crashed into the gym last night to say they had gotten a random practice match with Nekoma. He was even more surprised when Takeda said they'd be getting a bigger bus because their girls team would be coming too.
In short, their girls team sucked. They couldn't do much more than keep the ball off the ground, let alone score a point, but they had spirit. They never gave up.
They were baby birds still getting their wings right, and at that stage all they needed was to keep on not giving up.
The next day when they all loaded off the bus at Nekoma, they were greeted by the coaches, Kuroo, Kei and Kenma, along with an older woman and another girl. With the boys all reunited, Kuroo stepped aside to introduce the girl to Karasuno's team.
"Guys, this is (l/n) (y/n). She's the captain of the girls team." he said, and (y/n) stepped forwards next to Kuroo smiling.
"Hey all. I've heard good things about you." she said, managing to ignore Tanaka and Noya gushing over the fact she was a girl and (almost) talking to them.
"Thanks for having us, you're so kind to help us." Karasuno's Libero, Nozomi Watabe said, stepping forward to bow as the rest of the girls followed. (y/n) raised her hands.
"Oh no, please. No need for that." she said, laughing awkwardly before ushering Nozomi and the others to the gym. "Let's just get started. I believe we have a bit of work to do."
An hour later, the boys hadn't even gotten to touch a ball yet. (y/n) and the Karasuno girls had taken over the court, and it seemed like they were only warming up.
(y/n) had delegated players from your team to guide members from Karasuno, while she helped everyone all-round. From Daichi's perspective, she was a good teacher.
Two hours and his team was getting antsy and rowdy, but (y/n) had already managed to teach the girls how to serve, block, spike and dig - at least well enough that they probably would score a good amount of points in a real game. But then she started pulling some of the Karasuno boys in to play too.
Three hours and a court was set up. The Nekoma girls team on one side, while Karasuno on the other. Yamaguchi, Tanaka, and Hinata had joined their girls - Yama because (y/n) could tell he needed practice, and the other two because they couldn't sit still.
By the fourth hour, the boys had started their practice game. The girls had seated themselves on one side of the gym, and (y/n) had taken it upon herself to point out to the visiting girls what the boys did right and wrong.

(y/n) didn't understand exactly what she was in for when Coach Nekomata came to her - and her teams Coach, Hase - about joining the boys team in a practice match-session against both Karasuno's volleyball teams.
She thought it was exactly that; a practice match.
But then she did some research and found the girls teams was next to hopeless. She felt nothing but sorry for them.
They had little players, less experience, and basically no coach for themselves. So she decided she'd do what she could to help them in the little time they had together. Anyone could tell that by midday she'd proved true to her word. They could hold their own in a game, keeping points fairly even, but that didn't mean they'd win. They still had a bit further to go to get to that stage.
(y/n) felt determined to take them to that stage of winning, to help get them to Nationals in case her team couldn't.
At a break, (y/n) and her team got the chance to socialize with the boys from Karasuno properly. There she gets formerly introduced to Daichi Sawamura - another Captain. Boy, oh boy.
They talked all break, about volleyball, strategies, moves, plays, past games. Then it moved to school, subjects, likes, dislikes. To think at the start of the day they were both strangers.
By the time Nekoma and Karsuno had to part ways, they knew each other in a much closer way. More than words can speak. The day they met again would be one neither of them expected either.
But oh, would this meeting last so much longer, and mean so much more.
