A/N: Ok, so this is my first story-type thing, and I'm not too sure about this. It was supposed to be kinda like a short little thing, but it is way longer than I expected. I think this turned out really bad, but I'm just going to put it on here anyway. There's going to be some mistakes, because I'm no pro or anything. There may be some mistakes with the storyline or something. Idk. And there will most likely be mistakes with the colds and stuff, because I don't get sick too often and I don't know much about that. (feel free to correct me, just don't be rude please) I'm just trying this out to see how it goes. I tried to make this as relatable as possible, but I think I actually did the opposite. And I apologize in advance because this is really bad. (It's also in first-person POV, it seems easier to me. Sorry if you don't like it) Wow. That was bad. Anyway, I'll shut up now.

Warnings: um, concerned and slightly annoyed Bucky(is that even a warning? Idk), whiny reader(sort of), and that's it I think unless you consider the word 'crap' as a 'bad language word'.

The reader hardly gets sick and doesn't know what to do after getting sick because the reader  disregarded Bucky's warnings about it being cold and snowing outside. Bucky makes the reader go see a doctor, which turns out to be an interesting doctors' visit. (I'm terrible with descriptions, I am so sorry and this doesn't really have any set time, so I guess it's kinda like and AU? Idk)

Yay! Just another glorious afternoon in New York City. The sky is dark and gloomy, just like my mood(jkjk), with a telltale sign that it is going to storm soon, and it is currently cold enough that I'm complaining, and I can be out in 30 degree weather and not have a care in the world. I would have driven, but have you seen New York traffic? It takes ten minutes just to go one block, and I still have about four blocks to my apartment. It is way quicker to walk to my apartment so I thought, why not? Four city blocks isn't much, but four New York blocks could be about the same as six or eight regular city blocks. I don't know why it's like that, but I didn't construct it so, whatever. Either way, I have a bit of a walk, and I hate walking, but I needed some things from the store, so I was desperate.

But I'm the genius that forgot my raincoat or my hoodie at my apartment, even though my boyfriend specifically told me that it was going to storm before he left for work. And did I listen? No. Of course not! I'm stubborn, I'm invincible, I never get sick. Ever. So I just completely disregarded his scolding and went without the proper storm protection.

How responsible and mature of me? The 25 year-old executive editor at one of New York's best publishing companies, "forgets" her freaking rain coat and umbrella just because she wanted to defy her boyfriend. He hated when I would go outside without a raincoat or hoodie or anything to keep me warm when it was remotely cold.

What can I say? He's used to having to practically force his best friend to wear the proper clothes when exiting his house. (I'm so sorry. This is so cringy.)

But for once, he may have actually been right. Of course I'm not gonna tell him that, I'm too stubborn and I hate people, especially him, telling me "I told you so!" It's aggravating because I knew he was right, yet I still went without one.

And of course I regret that ridiculous decision now, but I'll live and it wouldn't kill me if I got a bit snowed on. On my way home, though it snows harder and harder, and eventually I can't see five feet in from of me. Instead of being a normal person and taking cover in a store, I venture on to my apartment, in the freezing snow/sleet without a hoodie/jacket(whatever you call it) or a raincoat/windbreaker. By the time I get to my apartment and unlock my door, I'm so cold, I'm shivering and snow is just melting off of me, making me look like a drowned rat. When I open my door, I'm practically tackled to the ground by a large, warm, muscular figure. By the time I return to my senses, I realize that it is indeed my boyfriend.
