Chapter 1: Plotting and Planning

Virgil was alone in a dark forest, he was being chased by something, something dangerous. It was gaining on him faster and faster... closer and closer. He could feel the monster's breath on the back of his neck... He turned around to face the creature, but when he turned around, he saw something he never expected... He saw his own face staring back at him. He had been running from himself. As realisation dawned on him, the forest disappeared.

Virgil woke with a start. He sat alone in the dark of his room. He knew that at this time in the morning, Logan would be sleeping in his attempt to gain the 'optimal level of sleep'. Roman would have begun his long routine of washing his 'beautiful mane' as Roman liked to call it and Patton, well Patton would be being Patton, probably asking himself whether he was daring enough to take a second cookie. But here, Virgil knew that there was no point in any of this, "We all die anyway," he whispered to no one in particular.

He opened his eyes grudgingly and hissed as light streamed through the curtains he had just opened. Ugh... A sunny day... how delightful, Virgil thought to himself. He began his morning routine which mainly consisted of brooding, brushing his hair (not very well, but he did it), more brooding, brushing his teeth, and another section of his day dedicated to brooding. 

Now he was utterly bored and decided that it was too early to go and do something useful with himself, so he just fell on the couch and started to watch TV, (things like A Dog's Purpose, where he would laugh when the dog died because the dog was so stupid).

Suddenly, Virgil heard a thunderous crack as his door was kicked open by... "Hello Deceit, Remus. Why are you here? Did the cat you rent your house from kick you out of the trash can?" Virgil snickered. "Ha ha, very funny," Deceit replied dryly, "And for your information, no, that is not why we are here. We need a favour from you, and it needs to be done by tonight..." 

Virgil didn't come home that night...
