Cammie was the first to wake up, which was pretty unusual. Everything around her was white and blurry, so she rubbed her eyes, but the world never came into focus. She stood up abruptly, immediately regretting it because it made her dizzy. After she'd recovered herself, she spotted Marco and Matilda, curled up on the floor on opposite sides of the room. That was when Cammie came to her senses within her surroundings. Everything was plain white, no shadows, not even ones being cast off the kids. There only appeared to be a floor, and Cammie wasn't even sure where the source of light was coming from. The room- or whatever it was- was huge. Cammie ran over to Matilda first, then Marco. She shook them awake and they both had the same reaction as Cammie.
"What- what the- why- who- what?" Marco stuttered, turning in circles. He ran in some random direction.
"There has to be a wall here somewhere!" Marco yelled, running in all kinds of random directions, apparently looking for a wall.
"There must be some kind of logical explanation for this!" Matilda exclaimed.
"Oh no!" Cammie said.
"What?! What's wrong?!" Matilda asked.
"It's your birthday today!"
"Who cares? I just want to get out of here!"
"Dammit! This is the worst 16th birthday!"
"Cammie! It's ok! Just get me out of here!"
Marco finally ran back to Cammie and Matilda.
"Well, I'm not exactly sure how you'd do that... There's no walls." Marco said.
"Maybe I could check if there's a ceiling." Cammie pulled her shirt off, revealing a black singlet underneath. She spread her wings and started pushing them, slowly lifting her off the ground and towards the sky. She kept pushing and pushing, getting higher as she went.
"Well?!" Matilda shouted up.
"Is there anything up there?!" Marco added.
"Nothing! I don't even understand! It's not like we're in a room at all, just in a world that's completely colourless!" Cammie eventually gave up trying to go higher, and slowly fell back down to what the group thought was the floor.
"No walls. No roof. No boundaries! Where are we?!" Matilda said.
The group was startled by a sudden clicking sound, like the sound a door makes when it opens. They turned towards the source of the sound to see, out of nowhere, a black slit appear and grow, like a wall and door had suddenly appeared in the middle of the room. The new door opened, revealing a blackness in the White surroundings.
Just before the group was about to act and inspect the door, someone emerged from the other side.
