Welcome Doll

I woke up from my alarm clock sounding. I reached over and hit the off button. I rolled out of bed with the messiest bed head. Last night didn't go so well for me. Today is the first day of school for me at a new school in America. Kinda nerve racking. I don't know how people act in America. I could get thrown on to a locker for being to "Asian" or something! I don't know! Sigh.. can you tell I'm a over thinker? I'm very shy and self conscious. I opened my door to be welcomed by the sound of silence. My mom is probably at work making the best for our family. Me, my little sister, and my mom. My dad is probably in some girls bed or still at the club drunk. He left my mom for some girl who broke his heart anyway. She just wanted money. My dad put my mother into debt for revenge on the other girl. He stole all our money by claiming we sexually assaulted him and we were never his real family and we just kidnapped him. It was the craziest story I've ever heard. But the judge still believed it and he won the case. We still get a phone call from him though. Saying he misses us but we know that it's a lie. We're surprised he even remembers our name. I don't even know how I'm related to him. He's a criminal, a liar, a cheater, a joker in my words. I walked down the hall to wake up my little sister, Irene. She's already 11 and so mature. I can't believe the things she has dealt with for a young girl at her age. I'm honestly so proud of her even if I don't show it. I knocked on her door 4 times. "Irene wake up. We have school." Immediately the door opened. Irene was all dolled up. Her hair was nice and wavy, her eyes sparkled blue, and her new uniform fit her well. "Well good morning. Where did all this come from?" I asked. "Dad. He wanted me to realize how much he misses me by giving me a bunch of cool cosmetics." "Hmm. I can tell for sure. Those colored contacts can fool anyone. I thought they were your real eyes for a second." She giggled. "That's the point silly." She said walking out of her room. "Do you know what's for breakfast?" She asked walking down the stairs. "I think mom left some pancakes and bacon in the fridge for us." "Yay!" I followed her down the stairs into the kitchen. I pulled two plates full of pancakes and bacon out of the fridge and set it in-front of us. Irene pulls out a book and begins reading while eating. I pulled my phone out and sat down in front of her and began to eat. "Dad called me last night. He told that if we ever get into trouble because of someone else, even if they are someone you had fun with, always throw play a reverse card. Don't act like a doll and fall into control over the other person. Break the strings and fall
Into a place where you feel "over powered." I signed. "Of course he would say that. He's like a mini joker." Irene laughed. "Anyway, you need to get ready. It's 6:44 and we need to leave at 7:00." I looked at Irene. "Well geez I thought I was the older one here." She laughed and I walked upstairs. I opened my closet and found my uniform. I put it on and stepped to look in the mirror.

I thought I looked pretty good on me. I applied some quick makeup and tamed my bed head and went downstairs to meet Irene standing by the door getting our bags ready. I grabbed my bag out her hand. "Come on, we have to hurry!"
I said to Irene while opening the door and walking out to the car. I hopped in the drivers seat and Irene got in the car.
•10 minutes later•
I dropped of Irene at her middle school and drove into the high school parking lot. I dropped my bag and headed into the school with the few students who were coming in early. I walked down the empty hall to office. I was greeted by a young women who had curly hair and her skin color was very caramel and pretty. She smiled when I entered. "Hello! Are you the new student here at Edge Wood high?" She asked with a smile. "Yes ma'am." "Perfect!" She continued to type something into the computer. A light pink piece of paper was printed out. She took the the piece of paper and overlooked it and sat it down next to her. "Okay so, you are Naomi Lee?" She asked. "Yes ma'am I am." "Awesome!" She replied with a smile. She then handed the light pink sheet to me. "So this paper is your schedule. I have you 5th period for my advanced chemistry class. I am Mrs.Sims." She smiled. "This school is very big and very easy to get lost in. Trust me, this is my first year here too! So I wanted to make sure you weren't alone so I got a student I trust to show you around. Her name is Sunny. She's In your first period so if you need anything you can always talk to her. I'm also very close to you. I only teach 3 periods so you're welcome to come talk to me for help." She smiled. "Awesome! Thank you Mrs. Sims! I'll be sure to talk to Sunny in first period." I smiled and walked away. I started to walk down the hallway where students were starting to crowd. I headed to my first period Mrs. Ferraro's Sex Ed class. I walked into the room and that's where I saw students throwing pieces of paper and pencils across the room. Girls were braiding hair and talking about sex they had the night the before, guys were talking quietly to each other except for one guy
In particular. I went over to the teachers desk. "Hi! I'm the new student and I was wondering where I could sit." I asked. "Oh awesome! There's a seat besides Sunny. I'm Mrs. Ferraro by the way. It's very nice to meet you." She smiled. "It's very nice to meet you too. I'm Naomi." "I'm glad your in my class Naomi." I turned around and walked away so I could sit next to Sunny. Mrs Ferraro started to call role. "Connor Ma?" "Here!" "Darby Jarvis?" "Here!" "Angel Vega?" Here!" "Todd Weigel?" "Here!" Who in the actual hell names their child Todd? I turned around to see a kid with glasses and a bowl cut. THAT was Todd. I turned around as fast as I could and processed my thoughts for a second. "Naomi Lee?" "Here!" I responded. "Andrew Davila?" "Here." I turned around to see a guy who was low key cute and who was talking to a group of him friends.

All of a sudden he looked at me. He whispered something and all his friends looked back at me. I turned around as fast as I could. All of a sudden I hear "New girl" being called. I'm guessing that's for me. So I turn around slowly and respond shyly "yes? Also, I have a name." The guys friends chuckled. "Come over here." I stood up and walked over to an empty desk in front of him. "What's your name?" He asked. "Naomi." I responded in a low shy voice. He chuckled. "So, you're Korean right." "Yeah."
I responded looking down. His friends laughed. All of a sudden he whispered to his friends and he turns back to face me again. "Come sit with us at lunch. I wanna talk to you more." He said to me. "Umm okay." I stood up and so did he. He then leaned closer to my face. He put a piece of my hair behind my ear and lifted my head his hand lightly on the side of my face. "Don't always look down. People wanna see your pretty face." He said in a low voice and then smiled brightly. He moved his hand down to my waist. "Welcome to Edge Wood gorgeous." He said and winked. He moved his hand away from my waist and he turned to his friends and I walked back to my desk which was next to Sunny who witnessed the whole thing and her mouth was wide open. I sat down next to her. "Umm how do you feel after what just happened?" She asked in shock. I sat there quietly processing my thoughts. I finally turn to her. ".... life is crazy bro"
