Blacklight: The first Chapter

Chapter 1: The reckoning

2035, December 12th.

As the school bell rung and echoed throughout the building, I stepped outside of the school, the air frigid, snow falling down, the smell of Hot Cocoa and pastries in the air. I walked over to the Cherry Blossom tree that sat at the left corner of the schools entrance, leaning against it. After some time, I could see what was my sister, I could recognize her by her beautiful brunette hair blowing in the wind, baby blue eyes, and skinny body. As she walked up to me, she hugged me tightly and began to speak.

Aseylai: "I am so excited for Winter break!, where are our friends?"

Elisena: "I'm not sure, they should be arriving any minute now."

After we spoke, not long later, our friends walked up to us, hugging, laughing, and all filled with joy. Moments later, we began to walk to a restaurant, the restaurant wasn't far from the school, and it had recently just opened. As we walked down the sidewalk, I could see many things. People walking, other kids from our school, Birds flying throughout the air, cars passing. Before I knew it, we were at the restaurant, sitting down, ordering and then eating. After we were done, we paid and left. My friends decided to all decided to go with my Bestfriend, Olivia, they were having a sleepover, as for me and Aseylai, we were tired and just wanted to go home.

As we walked down the street, I heard the towns bell ring, by this point, most people were already at home, not many cars were around. A lot of restaurants and places had closed as well, the smell of pastries and hot cocoa was now faded into the air. Everything was pitch dark, the only light around was coming from the flashlight of my Phone. My sister walked behind me, not too far, very close behind. As my mind wandered off, getting a little bit spooked by how dark it was. I totally didn't realize that my sister had disappeared from behind me, when I finally came to a realization, I realized she was gone. Then hearing her faint scream from an alleyway behind me, my fight or flight senses kicked in.

I quickly ran into the alleyway, screaming out.

Elisena: "Aseylai! Aseylai! Where are you!?"

At this point, I was running towards the end of the alleyway, still hearing the muffled screams of my sister, but with no sight of her. I stopped dead in my tracks as I heard a loud thump, and then seeing the cold body of my sister rolling towards me and stopping right in front of me. A tall dark shadow towered over me, the next thing I knew, all I see was pitch black.

When I came to an awakening, I was sitting in a wheelchair, upon realization, my arms were strapped down by metal latches, and so were my legs. Still drowsy and my vision blurred, I looked around at the room I was in, padded walls with mold on them, dried blood, and even fresh blood, the door a few feet in front of me had a dirty window at the top of it. The smell of the room was so bad, it made me gag, I heard some noises outside of the room, it sounded like people screaming...and the sound of people talking. Somebody then walked into the room, it was a man, didn't look to be too old, nor too young, maybe around my age. He was kinda hot, but that was the least of my focus, the first thing I noticed was the blood that covered his Doctors uniform. He walked up to me, kneeling down and taking out a syringe, I noticed it. I tried to say something, but because I was still drowsy, no words could form, he put the syringe into my arm, and injected me with liquid. Then he got up and started to move the wheelchair, as we went through the halls, I was slowly falling back asleep, whatever that liquid was, it was making me sleepy. I could see other people, things were mostly blurred, through my blurred vision, all I could see were blurred figures of people, blood, and I could hear screaming. Then, I was asleep.
