It was just another day, I was home sitting at my computer working out how to run my most recent malware I just created. It was a worm with ransomware attached to it, so theoretically it would lock you out of your whole system until you paid the ransom. Due to it being a worm it would infect any device attached to the network meaning you could bring anything down with it; it was highly developed and I wouldn't dare release it as I have made sure it would get past any and all antivirus software. For the sake of simplicity I will just call it a virus. Yes I do work with the police along side my friend Hazel, we are the highest ranked in our profession. There is no attack we aren't prepared for. It is our job to experiment with the antivirus programs to see if anything could possibly get through.I live at my home with my brother, Xavier, and my cat, Kittie. I'm 18 years old with obsidian coloured hair and silver eyes. My brother, 20 years old with dark brown hair, works as a programer for the antivirus software produced by our company. He works with Hazel's brother, Aaren. So we all work pretty close together. Hazel lives 2 apartments down from us with her brother. We are all close, almost like family. There will be days where we will go over to theirs for dinner or something similar.I would say my life is pretty great, however recently I have noticed changes in what the head of our company want, for clarification none of it is my business; I am not in the department for this and our company is used by our whole government. Our antivirus program is mandatory and if you don't have it you will get fined until you do; if you are caught more than 3 times you will get a prison sentence of 9 months and police officers are legally allowed to go into your home and instal the antivirus onto your network. Now you are probably asking: what harm comes with this program and why would people not install this? Well the harm involved is the fact that the antivirus allows our company to see just who you are and we track everything you do on any device. They passed a law that allows this to be a thing. Why? I have no clue but what I do know is that no one is safe anymore. I plan on getting past all defences and want to take it all down. Then maybe I can change things for the better. Sure it may be considered 'evil' or you might say "Aren't you acting against the law?" Well you're right, I guess I am but it's better than following along to this criminal behaviour in which has been forced as law. I would much rather be considered a criminal; protecting the privacy of others than not be considered criminal and take away people's freedom. For one, Xavier agrees with me in the sense what we are doing is criminal and to him it explains why he got a massive pay rise. The company is using bribery with money, something neither my brother or myself will take to. We had emotionally and physically abusive parents, hence why we live together and not with them. However Hazel doesn't agree and refuses to believe what we are doing is wrong, I'm not going to hold anything against her unless she goes to the boss and explains what I am trying to do. For safety reasons I haven't told her anything about the virus, only that I was thinking about making one.Friday 9:00 am This is a day I hate with a passion. Every month roughly I am called into work for the progress I have made and a massive meeting is held. I hate these days because of the fact that I am always telling Xavier and Aaren what issues and cracks in the security and what not so there is no point to me going, except the fact that Hazel forces me to go. If not for here I would never attend. It's is rather annoying if I'm to be honest. I'm dozing off in this meeting, bored out of my mind, when I hear "So, what would happen if you found a virus threat created by one of our staff that got past the antivirus software?" This clearly coming from Hazel. I fought hard to keep my composure and kept listening. "Well without hesitation, we would bring in the police force and get an investigation started. The suspects will have paid time off while being investigate and the culprit thrown out of the country as this is all part of our policy. We can't let a criminal lurk in the city." The conversation goes on and on and I stopped listening to everything going on. The best thing about my position is the fact that I am set up in a way where I am needed for the company's success. If not for me a majority of security breaches would exist and they wouldn't be as advanced as they are now. My high intelligence has its ups and downs like my brain power and speed exceeds that of a normal person. The reason for choosing the job I have is the fact that I'm always finding ways to get past everything there is, and the more developed the antivirus gets the harder I have to work my brain. However in saying that, it's rather hard for me to be interested in any type of social interaction, I can say what the other person will say before they even say it, so I just stopped interacting with people. I had a brain scan when I was younger and they discovered I had the brain of a psychopath. No I do not go around killing people, however I could if I wanted to. So I really don't have many good sides to all of this, but I make do with what I got.Monday 5:00 pm"How could you! After all of this, just why?""Do you not hear yourself Kassidy? Did you not hear what was said, you will be kicked out of the city for good when they catch you if you go through with making this thing.""Okay, what's your point. If the people here cannot have their own freedom then I don't want to be here and I don't what to be the reason they don't have it.""Are you sure your psychopathic traits aren't talking here, c'mon your better than this.""Oh so bringing in my brain is totally effective here, yeah nice work.""Are you even listening to anything I'm saying""Hazel! I don't care anymore just get out of my house. I only had a small idea, the success rate is rather low after all so get off my back and leave!"And with that Hazel was gone, she left. I have no idea what risks are now posed against me but it is what it is. If she were smarter and didn't rely so much on the mistakes I had found in every little thing she would be where she is now. Now that everything is calmed down I think I'm going to rest up a little bit.Tuesday 4:30 amYou know it's a shame Hazel has abandoned me like this, she kind of grew on me. Now that she has now betrayed me I can finally clear up any and all issues related to myself getting caught. As it is I'm sure Hazel has now reported me as a threat to my boss, but that's all well and good because I have formatted the dive with the virus in a way that it cannot be detected, nor destroyed. Every inch of my network and what not has been wiped clean, after all who works on just one network now. It's almost like an unwritten code that says to have a disposable network, just smash and burn everything so that you may live well and undercover. All that was left to do was to plug in and run the code when I next get called in which I assumed would be soon. I mean who would wait for an attack now. It's sad the world has come to what it has and I'm a little disappointed yet excited that I'm viewed as the 'bad guy' but none of that will matter. I have a perfect record and I can guarantee everything has fallen into place. I just need the right moment to put my plan into action. I will cause havoc to unleash and I may even become somewhat dangerous or insane, but none of that matters now. I know the devastation and I know the risk factor in all of this but I ask you. Would I be stupid enough to not think of the perfect plan? I told you before I have a super human brain, I had more than enough time to plan everything down to the last factor. Oh... for those of you curious about what I'm naming the virus. It's name is Despair...
