The Way It Feels [NaNoWriMo 2019]

AUTHOR'S NOTE

In case for some odd reason you didn't read the description for this book:

     Originally I was planning on publishing chapters for this story as I was writing them this month. But I have quickly learned that that just overwhelms me because I am not the type of person who can write in chronological order.

     I am all for stories being told out of order but for the stories to be told in the order I write them is just confusing. There has to be structure to the out of orderness of a story. And when this story is finished, I can guarantee it will not be told in chronological order. It will focus on two key points in time and we will bounce back in forth between the two.

     I am going to keep the chapter I posted already up as kind of a preview for what this story will be about. But I have already decided on major changes I am going to make.

     No judgements here if you hadn't read it already because I am guilty of seeing a fic and just jumping right in.

Now, onto what this note is about!

     This story starts in May of 1985 and follows Billy's side of what happens in season 3 of Stranger Things. With some canon divergent things added. Meaning I have an oc that comes in and messes things up. Not really messes but he changes the story a little. But like we know nothing about what Billy went though so what does it really change.

     The second key point in time we will be focusing on is the summer/fall of 1984 back in California with Max, Billy, and a different oc. These flashbacks will end when Max and Billy arrive at school in Hawkins. *cough cough* where they first appear in season 2. The flashback dives deep in to how I imaging their background went and takes you through my headcanon about why they left California.

     After the CHAPTER ONE I posted I will be posting some updates throughout the month. Where I am with the story, how I feel it's going, my word count (I tweet my word progress over on Twitter daily if you're interested). I may also give some quotes I really like from what I have written if I write something I am extra proud of.

     After November is over and I have the story (hopefully) finished, I am going to organize and cut it into chapters to post on here throughout December. It will be raw and unedited. I will start my revisions in January. Then the revised version will be posted over on Ao3, eta for that is the end of February/the beginning of March.

     I will be posting the story as a new work but I will add a part to this informing you all about that when it happens.
