I stood at the cross-roads for every single world that existed. The parallel worlds were endless. I often stood here yearning for a world of my own to control like I once did. I turned away knowing that being a Goddess for a world was no longer an option for me.
"How do you do Goddess?" The fate sisters cackled, coming up beside me.
"I am well, thank you. You three look like you are up to no good." I said neutrally. The latest reincarnation of the Fate Sisters had clearly been enjoying exploring their powers. "Girls you better not have twisted another fate for your own enjoyment." I reprimanded, but their grins didn't falter.
"You won't be doing well for long Goddess." They hissed. I raised one of my neatly shaped eye-brows. The sisters gathered in a triangle and an image appeared. I became immediately entranced; a very tall man with pointed ears peeking out of his long straight black hair, his bangs framed his face by caressing his high cheek bones, his dark violet eyes only made his pearly white skin seem whiter, his slim but muscular build was well shown through his dress pants and tapered trench coat which went down to the middle of his thighs. The sheer beauty of this man coupled with his violet eyes told me exactly who he was. Bile rose from my stomach.
"Dracomaj." I said using his familiar name.
"Exactly. The Demon Dragon has made his return to his world."
"Why have you not approached the Oracle with this information?" I asked keeping my nervous anger hidden despite being unable to keep my whiskers still.
"He has hidden himself very well." I noticed the fear in the sisters' eyes.
"I will alert the High Council at once." The sisters nodded nervously. I didn't stay to console them as I might have done if it was any creature but him. My mind raced. It wasn't their fault that they couldn't see him. They were still young and the Demon Dragon is older than I am. I picked up my long dress, careful to not rip the delicate fabric with my claws and, showing my pawed feet as little as possible. Most creatures in Astoiv knew me on sight but it didn't stop me from being self-conscious. I hurried through the winding maze to reach the Heart of Astoiv. There I found the other two High Council members: The Oracle and Tibor.
"The Demon Dragon has returned." I said with a level of urgency in my voice. Tibor broke his strictly maintain composure to show his own surprise and panic. The Oracle's face didn't move as if he had known for several years that the Demon Dragon had returned.
"He has finally shown himself," The Oracle said calmly, "then let us choose our champion." I furrowed my brow. The Oracle rose and Tibor immediately followed. "It is your right to be confused." He said without turning towards me. "The Major Demons are difficult, at best, to control and manage. They are so difficult that I have five Goddesses on his world to watch over him and his kind."
"Are you speaking of the five Elemental Goddesses?" I asked.
"I am."
"They created him and his kind." I said with slight confusion.
"That is precisely why they are in charge of them. Now I am sure you are comfortable with how a demon is taken care of."
"A shaman sacrifices her life in order to seal the demon inside of a mortal of the opposite sex of the demon." I rattled off.
"Precisely." The Oracle nodded. "So first we must have a suitable shaman. The shaman must be powerful enough to complete the spell or it will take more than just her life. So I like to choose the descendants of the original families."
"Wouldn't that include the shaman family that the Demon Dragon tainted?" I asked referring to family of shamans that had control over aspects of time.
