Chapter 5

"So I have a big butt?" I tease him. I slap it and say "thanks it's gotten me places"

He gives me a stare "shut your ass up"

I laugh and he starts making his sister a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. "Want some to eat?" He asks me

"Nah thanks" I reply admiring him but I didn't realize

"Why are u looking at me like that?" He laughs

I snapped out of it. "Like what?" I play it off

"Mhm" he closes the sandwich and yells for his sister to come downstairs

"Here, go eat at the table" he gives it to her. Him and I stay in the kitchen as she sits in the table across from us. I lean over the kitchen counter to talk to her.

"Do you go to school?" I ask her

"Yeah my brother forces me but I don't really like it " she says with a mouth full

"Aye don't talk with your mouth full" Alejandro says to her as he puts stuff away

"Sorry"

"Why don't u like school" I ask her

"Because it starts too early and it's too much on my brain" she says while holding her head

I laugh

She continues eating her sandwich and I feel a smack on my ass. It was loud as fuck

"Ow you as-" I stop myself
"Meanie"

Luz giggles and says "I think he likes you"

"Oh yeah why's that?" I ask her intrigued

"Yeah why" Alejandro now leans over

"Because he smiles when you talk and he looks at you like my mom looked at my dad" she continues. Wow my heart broke a little I'm not gonna lie to ya.

Alejandro clears his throat "where's Fenix" he asked her

"Upstairs" she dances

"I'll be back" Alejandro says and goes upstairs

"Do you like my brother?" She asks me out of nowhere

"Yeah he's a cool guy" I reply

"No I mean would you date him"

"I would but I don't think he would date me. You see some people just don't want a girlfriend or a boyfriend" I admit to her. I haven't even admitted that to myself

"Why?"

"That's just how life is. Sometimes you really like someone but they don't like you back"

"But he does like you. I can see it. Trust me I know my brother. He's just pretending he doesn't like you because he says he doesn't want a failed relationship like my parents. Whatever that means"

I see Alejandro coming downstairs and Fenix behind him

"Hey Jen" Fenix says to me

"Hey" I smile

"I never got your snap, let me see your phone" he says to me. So random but ok. I hand him my phone and he adds himself

"Why do u want her snap?" Alejandro asks him

"Chill bro she's all yours, I have my girl."

We all just chilled downstairs and talked while Luz went upstairs and played with her dolls.
After a few hours Alejandro and I headed out.
We got in the car and I decided to bring up what his sister said to me.
