"You're being ridiculous. How do you know that we're safe while that's going on our there?!" Dyane said worrying as she held her sweet daughter in her arms. Her daughter Macy was coughing while her father who was holding the door temporarily. The father frustrated, Kevin. Stressed with the obvious truth that his Wife lacked trust in him. Why? Kevin started to speak without artifice on what to do next. It worried her along with Macy who was starting to be knocked out cold.
"Give me a few minutes!!" He was out of breath as he yelled in return while his shoulder was constantly being bashed against as he held down the door. After those words, Dyane felt like his behavior was just another clever ruse to get her to obey him. Kevin was always such a prideful person and not to mention abuse to the family verbally and mentally. The banging subsided as another sound hopefully diverted the danger. Kevin took a breath and Macy was coughing endlessly now. "Give her to me." He said while Dyane, offended, held her daughter closer.
"Think you can do that, Kevin? You are not allowed to usurp my daughter from me. No matter where we stand now or ever." She spat out with a sharp tone, not backing down on what she was saying. Macy opening her eyes and looking up to say "Mum". Dyane comforted her daughter while running her fingers through her long, messy, dark brown hair.
"Dyane! I didn't relinquish sh#t yet. I still have my rights as much as you do. If you were to assume that I'm going to do so. You're off your meds. Over here saying I should be medicated and all." Kevin fought back but silenced, they both did, when the danger seemed to still linger. They both looked around at such an unknown territory. It was empty and so they made themselves temporarily home.
As hours went by, Kevin and Dyane worked to mollify each other. For Macy, for Macy was very ill for the time being. The next room, Macy laid down but not without taking her inhaler before relaxing. Not to far, Dyane and Kevin grabbed a blanket and cuddled for the night.
The sun shined through the window, to brightly this time around. Kevin was groaning as he heard a nuisance of a sound. Once actually listening, he'd come to notice a defiant voice speaking out as he grow more and more conscious of his surroundings. His eyes now open wondering what happened to the tranquility they experienced maybe a few hours ago from the danger. It was the entire opposite of tranquility. It was tumultuous which awakened Kevin the most. Looking around, his raiment was being exchanged for a nicer rags. Gazing over at the home they came into for shelter, his wife and daughter also being in the same situation. Who was doing this to them? Noticing the military has finally come to town. Looking down the street, many others who were doing the same thing. A person on speaker enlightening everyone on how the procedure would go. Luckily, this was the first mission of the day, unfortunately to the first peoples attention the whole process will be sporadic, not many will be saved.
" Infected! " A man shouted with a gun in hand. Kevin's eyes gazed at Macy who was let go by the mans peers. She was wheezing and coughing. She was laying down on the ground more tire like. For a kid, moving around so much and being in panic didn't work well for her condition. Dyane shouting at him.
"She'snot sick! She's not sick!" There was too much commotion for her to get their attention. Kevin about to speak up.
"Godspeed." Before a bullet fired. Dyane screaming was interminable and seized short after to find that Kevin decided to take action than open his mouth. Kevin tackling the man to save his only daughter left. The fate of his daughter would be perpetual than the unfortunate cause of death to his first. Kevin could understand the action of the soldiers, yet this was all a misunderstanding. Understanding them trying to mitigate the situation, he had to enlighten them. After the tossing and turning. Kevin spoke up for the sake of his daughters survival and for Dyane to take action on Macy's panic attack.
Kevin sat with the man later on "That was deft footwork." he complimented him and they both joked about. They were at base, the save haven from now on and Kevin was expected to do his time again in the Army. Kevin,Dyane, and Macy all hundled in a room with another couple of families staying warm. Macy was doing fine and Dyane and Kevin toned down the disagreements. Before another resolved day to sleep, Macy spoke.
"When's Maddie coming home from Nana's?" she yawned while speaking tiredly. Dyane and Kevin looked at each other for an answer.
