"Lexi! What you're doing is practically villainous, you know? You can get into some serious trouble!" Villainous, you say? So following my passion is considered villainous now? Doing what I love, what keeps food on the table for me is considered villainous? Or, is it due to the sudden appearance of heroism that make my job look villainous?
Regardless, I will find a way to make this god awful quirk useful in some way. If it that means I must slaughter to get the best genetics possible, then so be it. And no, it didn't appear as miraculous as the glowing baby. No, no. It was gruesome, slow agonizing realization of the burden I was now forced to carry. A terrible realization of an abomination of a quirk.
A long time ago, before the major rise of quirks, my life was simple. I mean, as simple as the life of a biomedical scientist, bio-technologist and medicinal chemist can be.
I went to school for those things in Italy, where I resided, before moving to Japan. Though, it's unclear to me as to why I was in either country.
"Doctor?" Huh? Someone is trying to talk to me. I must've been zoning out again.
"Doctor, are you okay?" A comrade of mine has tapped me, bringing me to my senses.
"Yes, I am okay. At least, I feel okay. Do I not look okay?" I question as I look at my comrade and my assistant.
It seems as if his or her identity is no longer an important aspect in my memory.
"You've been asleep for two hours, Doctor. You appear fine but I am worried that you aren't getting any sleep." Sleep? I've been sleeping fine. I get off work at 8:30, then eat dinner alone, check my work emails and shower all before 10:45. Then I sleep for eight hours, and get ready for my 9 am work schedule.
"I have been sleeping. I do not know what you mean. I went to sleep at 10:45 like I always do." I decide to bring it up. I needed my comrade to explain this strange thing to me fully.
"Doctor, you sent me today's schedule at 3:27 this morning." Huh? That- That's not right. I was asleep.
"It was faxed to me precisely at that time. It actually startled me a bit but I had forgotten to turn off my fax machine before bed. Normally, I'd say one of your other assistants must have sent the fax however," He took a pause, looking at me with a worrying expression.
He? Hm, maybe.
"The fax had your specific signature with your favorite blood red pen." My comrade pulled out the faxed work from their folder, showing it to me.
Dr. Alexandrine E.
What? I- I didn't do that. Did I do that?
"I am slightly surprised by this, though. You almost never put a surname initial. I almost thought you hadn't had one. So, Doctor, I'm curious."
"What does the E stand for?"
