September 2, 2016 journal entry:
Friday

Alaina told me about this stupid book that I got for our 17th birthday, so I guess I have to use it. Ugh. Welp, here we go.

Who's Alaina you might ask? She's my sister. My twin, in fact. Yep, older by an hour. She's a redhead like me, and she usually wears her hair short. We're mostly identical, but our eyes are different. Mine are a dark blue while Alaina's are a bright green (or at least that's what she told me.). Looks aside, we don't get along a lot, but we look out for each other.

Anyway, we just got back from a sparing match in the training room. Of course I won, but man, Alaina scorched me bad. Not too much, but at least we have a med kit. Everywhere. At all times. Damn, Erroe is paranoid sometimes. Dude needs to chill.

Anyway, that's all I got for ya. See you tomorrow or when the next big event comes around.

I put my journal down, yes a journal because I'm too old to have a diary, and look around the room. Oof! I just flexed my burnt arms and they ache. We don't usually go to school until the 12th, so I guess it gives my arms time to heal. I groaned a bit and hear Alaina run in my room.

She has that worried look that she has after a sparing session. She's going to apologize for the forteenth time. I sat up on my desk to look at her with a raised eyebrow. "For the last time, I'm ok. Thanks for worrying, but it's getting annoying. Seriously, stop apologizing more than once after every sparing session. I don't apologize much after I win. You're acting like a worried mom."

My twin sighed leaned over on the door frame with her arms crossed. "I know Mel, but fire's harmful. I don't want to accidentally get you hurt more than the occasional burns."

I then rolled my eyes and put the journal in it's drawer. "Yeah, yeah. I know you won't hurt me. You're too soft to," I said, chuckling at the last part. That earned a chuckle from her too, and we eventually started laughing for no reason until the magical prick himself walked in.

Yep, the unicorn prince cometh. He's not really a prince, but it sounded sarcastic. But he is a literal unicorn. Horn, hooves and everything. He can turn into just about anybody you can imagine but likes to be in his true form around the house. It's his hobby. He adopted us about five years ago upon hearing about our powers. As sick as that sounds, I'm actually kinda glad he did or we would be royally screwed in the future.

"You girls OK?" the bastard asks.

"Oh my god!" I exclaim in frustration as I walk out of the room with my hands thrown in the air. Erroe looks at Alaina with crossed arms.

"Did you ask her multiple times, Alaina?" I heard him say.

"Heh. Yes...?" I hear Alaina say. She then walks up to me with an excited face. Oh no. I know that face. Even if I didn't read minds, I know what she's going to ask.

"Alaina, I'm not going on a double date with your boyfriend and his stupid brother. Plus, Sydney and I have other plans," I said, sighing. "I already told you when you started dating Alistor that I would never date anyone related to him. Cause if ya get married, it would be hella awkward if I keep dating them. Don't want any of that incest shit. But if he does have a friend, let me know."

That earned a huff from my sister. "Okay, but you guys could always break up. It's just a little get together. You can even bring Sydney. She's my friend too. Maybe Elias and her can-"

"Yeah, no. She hates Elias."

"Why?"

"He's an annoying little shit who thinks he's too good for the world because his big bro is a high school football star. I ain't touching that thing with a twenty foot pole."

"But Meeeel-"

"No. Shut up. Imma hang with Sydney. You find some other poor soul to hang with you guys."

"Ugh. Fine," she tiredly says. Looks like I won. Heheheheh. "Hold up. What about your arms? We can't let her know about our powers."

"I won't take my jacket off. Anyway, Imma hang with my friend. You have fun in your trap."

And before she interjects more, I got out of there faster than the Road Runner.
