Charlie Rose Smith walked into the Headmasters office, worried as to what was happening. When she woke she was alone in a private room in the hospital wing that she did not know existed. She was wondering how she got their in the first place, then she remembered Tom and being struck with the killing curse. She jumped from where she laid feeling incredibly sore, but she was far too determined to warn Dumbledore of what Tom was up to.

Once she had gotten use to her movement, she ran to the transfiguration classroom, only to see it empty and abandoned. It looked dirty and even a few cobwebs had accumulated in the corners. Charlie didn't know where to look to find Albus, but she had to find him. She left the room and heard a strong female voice, and decided to follow it. Hopefully she could find someone to help her.

But to find out that the woman was the transfiguration professor, she instantly feared for Dumbledore's life. When she was told he was in his office, she became even more confused. She decided that she would just let the woman take her to him. She hadn't expected to be taken to the headmasters office, but as she walked in, she found an old man sitting at the desk who was definitely not Armando Dippet.

When the old man looked up his bright blue eyes stood out to Charlie, as the eyes of Albus Dumbledore.

Albus could not believe what he was seeing. He even thought for a moment it was his mind finally playing tricks on him, but as Minerva came in shortly after and told him she had found the girl wondering the halls he knew that it was real.

Charlie was awake.

Albus slowly stood up from his desk, and without breaking eye contact from the girl, carefully walked toward her, scared that if he walked too fast she would disappear. When Albus finally stood in front of her, they stared at each other in silence for a long pause, making McGonagall and the four boys in the corner hold their breath in anticipation.

Finally Albus spoke. "My dear, you have finally awoken."

Charlie broke down and hugged the headmaster with such sudden force, Dumbledore stumbled backward regaining his balance.

"Albus, it's Tom," Charlie started, "He is planning to kill muggles and muggleborns, and he has a small army-"

"Charlie. I'm afraid I already know. I'm sorry to tell you that the spell that struck you put you in a deep slumber."

Charlie looked up at him to meet his eyes again,"For how long?"

"You've been asleep for thirty two years my dear."

Charlie looked down in horror. She had been gone for so long, she missed her chance to warn everyone about Tom and assumed the worse as to what he had been able to do in such a long period of time. She had no idea what to do, but the only thing she could think of was her family.

"Where is my dad?" Charlie questioned.

"Kevin Smith is still alive child. He will be most happy to find that you are awake. I will take you to him but we must first discuss what needs to be done next."

"What do you mean Albus?"

"You may be the key to stopping Voldemort." Albus paused at the confused look on the young woman's face. "That is the name that Tom goes by now. You may be able to change his mind."

Charlie signed heavily, "I tried that night. Tom wouldn't listen to a word I said."

"Ah yes, but that night he sacrificed a piece of his soul for you. You mean a great deal to him, and you may be his only weakness. Even if you cannot persuade him to stop, your powers will detour him. Child you are more powerful than Tom and myself put together." Albus stepped back from the girl and walked back to his desk sitting down.

Charlie walked over to the front of his desk,"What am I supposed to do now?"

"Professor McGonagall, will you please get the sorting hat?"

Charlie looked over at the woman, as she rushed over to the shelf the hat laid and brought the hat to sit on the desk.

"But Albus, I'm already in Ravenclaw."

Dumbledore smiled at her, "Yes but it may have changed. You we're gone for a very long time and your true house may have changed."

Charlie decided not to argue anymore and let Dumbledore place the hat on her head. The hat was still for a moment, making Charlie believe that it was keeping her in Ravenclaw, but just as she was about to speak up she felt the hat move on her head.

"Charlie Rose Smith, what a pleasure to be atop your head again. I didn't think I'd ever get the pleasure after I heard of you hibernation." The Hat chuckled at his own joke. "I see that you believe that belong in Ravenclaw, but I see you being more successful in your new adventure somewhere else. I think you now belong in..."

Everyone held their breath in anticipation, waiting for the hats wise words.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

The room was silent, each for different reasons. McGonagall was waiting for the two to speak again, not daring to start her many questions. Albus was waiting for Charlie to break from her trance, while she was trying to grasp as to why she was put in the brave house as she didn't think she was brave at all.
