The pale green timer went off.

The baker smiled and slipped on their pastel blue oven mitts before carefully opening the oven door. It took just quick poke with a wooden toothpick, of which it left the baked goods clean, to have the sprinkle-laden cupcakes prove they were ready to be taken out.

Each confetti cupcake were carefully taken out and set on the cooling rack, their cream colored wrappers covered in lovely little paw prints of soft yellows and pinks. They should come out easily.

The baker hummed as they whisked the mint green butter cream frosting, smiling sweetly as they heard thumping from the floor below. "They'll be ready within half an hour, Darling!~" So impatient, but it was understandable. Their baked goods were to die for, after all.

A finger carefully swiped a little bit of frosting off of the whisk and was gently licked. It was perfect though missing a special ingredient that the confectioner knew would make it perfect.

One quick look in the cupboard later and the frosting finally had what it needed to be perfect for their guest who was starting to get antsy if the movements were anything to go by.

A few pinches of the sweet powder made it perfect though no taste tests were taken this time once the special ingredient was added as their already knew how perfect the additional ingredient made the mint frosting. Hopefully, their guest agreed with them.

The confetti cupcakes were frosted in soft swirls and decorated with candy pearls within an hour after which the baker carefully plating them on a soft yellow-dotted, baby blue tray with a single, grey cup of strawberry-green tea. The tea the perfect temperature with a flavor that fit well with the vanilla cupcakes that wasn't too sweet but not too bitter either.

Calling out to the oh so impatient guest, the baker said with a cheerful voice, "Don't lose your head now! I'm finished with the sweets, darling!~"

The tray was easy to pick up, being gently carried out of the softly colored kitchen and down the short hallway. Their sock covered feet barely making a sound on the greyish-cream colored tiles and hard wood floor. One-two-three knocks on the basement door was all it took for the noises to pick up again, only getting louder as the baker made their way down.

The sound of struggling bought a small, slightly unhinged smile to their face to know that they weren't forgotten. This guest was much smarter than the last and, hopefully, more polite.

The smell of iron was heavy in the air as the smile turned into a manic grin rivaling the Joker's own at the sight of the panicking "guest" tied to a bolted down chair. Oh how they loved the sight and smell of when they had guests over.

"I brought you some cupcakes~ Hope you like vanilla cupcakes and strawberry tea~"

The pale green timer went off.
