Three Years Ago

*Y/n POV*

"Do you have to go?" I ask as mom ended a call and looked over at dad. "We are needed ASAP." Mom said to dad as he nodded his head in response then walked into the bedroom to put his hero suit on. Mom got down on one knee and kissed me on the forehead. "I'm sorry sweetie but it's urgent." Mom then walked into the bedroom as dad walked out with his hero suit on. You always thought he looked so cool dressed in his hero suit. He placed his hand on your head. "We'll come home soon, I promise."
"B-but I don't want you to go? It's not fair!" I complained as dad chuckled. "While we're gone I want you to be brave OK? I know you don't like having the neighbor as your baby sitter but it's just until we come back."
"OK...but what if you don't come back?" I asked as mom walked out wearing her suit. Dad looked shocked as if he didn't expect me to ask such a question. "We will come back," Dad said trying to reassure me. "I'm not allowed to die until I see you join UA and become a hero."
"You promise you'll come home?"
"I promise," Dad promised while ruffling my hair a little. My parents smiled at me before each kissing the top of my head and leaving.

After a while, the neighbor/babysitter came over and greeted me. "Morning Y/n!"
"Morning Sammy." I greeted back while sitting on the couch. The atmosphere became awkward as Sammy walked over to the couch sitting next to me. "I know you miss your parents Y/n but they'll come back. Their quirks are strong together, no simple-minded villain could take them down." She tried to encourage me as I sat beside her looking at my feet dangling at the end of the couch. 
"So do you want to watch some T.V? I'm sure your parents will be on the news channel saving the day, being the best heroes ever." I shrugged my shoulders as she stood from the couch and grabbed the T.V remote laying on the shelf. Sammy hopped back on to the couch beside me and turned on the T.V. She flipped through the channels until she found the news. The news channel showed someone video tapping a group of villains and two heroes.
"See Y/n, there are your parents." 

The video continued to play as I watched my parents work together to fight a group of villains but I couldn't help but fear for the worst. The person filming the video was shaking making the video quality terrible but I managed to watch as one of the villains lift his hand to touch her. The villain dressed in mostly black clothes with messy, light blue hair and 'hands?' placed on his entire body.
"Get Away From Her!" Dad yelled at the villain as he charged into action pushing mom out of the way. She fell to the ground hard but by the time she looked at dad, it was too late. Dad managed to scream at her to run as the villain grasped his throat. I watched as he gasped for air until I saw what looked like flakes of skin leaving his neck and start to blow away in the wind.

"OK, that's enough of that." My attention was drawn away from the scene and over to Sammy as she turned off the T.V." The T.V became a quiet, black screen as she stood up and put the remote back on the shelf. She turned away from the shelf and looked at me still sitting on the couch confused. She faked a smile. "You hungry? How about we get something to eat?" I nodded my head. Sammy continued to smile as she responded. "I'll go get my purse then," She left the room as I stayed sitting on the couch. "What's going to happen to Mommy and Daddy?" I asked myself as I glanced back at the black screen on the T.V seeing my reflection looking back at me. Sammy came back into the room. "OK, you ready to go?"
"Yeah," I jumped off the couch and walked to Sammy's side. I followed her out to the car and she got into the driver's seat as I climbed into the passenger seat. "So, where do we want to eat?" Sammy asked me as I shrugged my shoulders still thinking about what I saw on T.V. "C'mon either choose where you want to eat or I'll cook something and you know my cookings bad." I twisted my head to look at her my eyes wide with alarm. "Your cooking's not bad it horrible! Your cooking could put someone in the hospital." Sammy laughed as she started the car. "Your favorite pizza place then?" I smiled at her as she pulled out of the driveway and on the road.

But that was three years ago... I'm not some confused, scared fourteen-year-old kid anymore.

*Present Time*

Beep! Beep! Beep!
I groaned as I rolled over and knock my phone off my nightstand and on to the floor. The alarm on my phone still beeping as I sluggishly roll out of bed and pick my phone up from the floor, turning the alarm off. I groan again and flop back on to my bed, closing my eyes again.
"Y/n wake up! You have an Entrance Exam to pass today!" A cheerful voice called from the other side of my bedroom door. I lifted my head from my pillow thinking. 'Todays the Entrance Exam for UA.' Suddenly my eyes flared open as I gasp. 'Today's the Entrance Exam for UA!'

 I quickly get dressed, comb my hair, eat breakfast, and brush my teeth.

"Wow! I should tell you that every morning so you wake up on time."
"I do wake up on time... sometimes," I commented as I grabbed my bag to leave for UA. As I opened the door I heard someone call my name. "Y/n!," I turn around and see Sammy smiling at me sadly. "good luck! I know you'll make us proud." I smiled and nodded, saying bye to Sammy and heading toward UA.

'I will make you proud Sammy. I'll make mom and dad proud too.'
