The Changed

Chapter 1 Part 2

"Sir we have a problem." I hear him quietly talk into his radio. As he does I roll my eyes, I look at the commander as he looks at me with a raised eyebrow.

"What is it?" I hear the the annoyed tone in the commanders voice as it goes through the radio.

The soldier looks at me terrified as he speaks back into the radio. "It's The Reaper, Sir." I growl at the soldier as he calls me that name and he yells in fear. I smirk as he does then the commander lets out a string of colorful curses then he orders his men to attack me.

I look at all of the soldiers then I raise my arms into the air then I make an x with them then the bone elongate into then I swings my arm fast then the soldiers that had advanced on me get cut in half. As I stand up straight the halves slide apart and I smirk then I let out a deranged laugh because of the look on the commander face.

"Shit." I hear the commander say as I make my way towards him as I kill anything and anyone that gets my way. When I reach him I look at with a serious face then I stab in the chest quickly then my arms go back to normal then I tilt my head and I let out a animistic howl that is only the sound that I can make. I use it as sign for the other to come back, after I get done I walk towards my shop as I do I drag the commanders body beside me.

When I get inside the shop I drag the body over a empty corner that had blood stains over it. I let the body drop onto the floor as it lads with a thud I walk over to the window. As I watch them arrive I look to see if everyone is still there, when I see that they are fine and in good spirits, I let out a relieved sigh.

As I turn around I see a little kid standing behind me, I get a felling as though I know him from somewhere but I get place it. As I kneel down I give him a warm smile and I grab a stuffed bear from the shelf at he kept glancing at.

"What is your name?" I ask him gently as I old out a stuffed bear that I had grabbed from the shelf.

"Aaron." He says so quietly that I can't really hear him and he gently grabs the bear from me.

"I'm Angela." I say gently.

I turn around when I hear the door creak open. I see someone from the group of people that I have been protecting. When I glance back at Aaron he is gone just like he was never here in the first place. I tilt my head to the side slightly then I shake my head when I get a fuzzy feeling in my head. I stand up then I walk over to the person that came in and I give her a light smile.

"What can I do for you Lizzie?" I ask her as I cross my as over my chest slightly.

"Well you see, the children are starting to get restless and some of us are wondering if we could find a playground or something for them to go to. I know that we are already stretching thin so I was thinking that I could get a small group of people to go exploring for one." She says she lets her eyes drift around the room slightly then when she looks over at me again she gives me a small smile.

I run a hand through my tangled hair and I let out a small sigh as I think about it. I know if I let them go there is a chance of them not coming back but that is a slim chance and I know if go with them then things here will turn into hell for the others. I nod my head agreeing with her even though I don't like the idea very well.

"You can but careful out there, if they find you do not fight back against them come start here and let me deal with them." I say as I talk, I look out the window.

"Thank you so much for letting me do this." She says as she gives me a wide smile. "I will be careful as much as I can be."

I nod my head as I look back over at her. "Remember don't let your guard down."

Lizzie nods her head then she bolts out the door. I watch her her as she gathers some others to join her. After a moment I let out a sigh then I walk over to the body. I kneel down beside it and I start to get to work. I transform my right index finger into a knife like object and use it to cut into the body. As blood trickles down my finger I ignore it as I continue to cut down the chest into the stomach area. Once I get done with that I my finger transforms back to normal. I stick my hand into the body and I dig around for a moment. When I feel the crystal and I wrap my hands around it then I pull with half my strength. It comes out with a snap and I stare down at the bloody crystal and a moment later I set it down beside me. I glance up at the body and it starts to decay faster than what it should have.

"Well that's a bummer." I say as I pick up the crystal and I stand up. I walk into the bathroom and I drop the crystal into sink. I turn the water but turn off when it is just barely over the crystal. I stick my hands into the water and I wipe off the blood. I continue to wash it until all the bloods off. I lift it up into the light that's shinning through the window. I stare into the dark blue crystal for a moment then I walk out of bathroom. I drop the crystal into my pocket as I I grab my sunglasses off of the counter. I slip them on as I walk out of the store. I look around slightly as everyone starts to gather the crystals from the soldiers of the unchanged. I look around slightly then I walk to boundary of the town that was near me.
