Chapter 2- The Mirror

It was a cold and quiet night. Dawn layed in her bed, clothes on from the day before, blankets off, laptop half off the bed.

Across from her bed was a white dresser, topped with scattered placements of make-up and hair suplies that she rarely ever used. Above the dresser, hangng on the wall, placed a tall white mirror laced with lights along the sides that you would see on a Christmas tree. Dawn loved lights, the dark was something she never really fancied.

The Christmas lights flickered for a moment, before completely turning themselves off. The glass from the mirror began moving in waves; almost like jello. After a moment, it stopped for the night.

The next morning, Dawn was awoken by the loud thud of something falling to the floor.

"Ughh, stupid Paws!" She moaned, throwing one of her pillows at her cat that was walking along the windowsill. After curling back under her blanket, trying to fall back asleep, another noise came from across her room. "What in the world, cat..." she yawned, leaning up from her bed, rubbing her eyes. She flopped onto her stomach and reached for her alarm clock, "It's five in the morning..." she sighed.

She looked over on the ground infront of her dresser where she saw her hairbrush and a hairspray bottle laying motionless on the floor. "I guess I should be getting up by now anyway..."

Walking like a zombie over to her dresser, she looked at herself in the mirror, yawned, and laughed under her breath while tryng to untangle her bed-hair.

"I hope to God that I find a husband one day who won't mind looking at this every morning." she laughed. She zombie-walked over towards her bathroom and shut the door to take a shower.

The glass in her mirror began moving in a waving movement, faster and letting out jello-like drops of the liquid glass out onto the floor. Coming out of the mirror, a small glass-like figure crawled out and onto the dresser in an small, unkown form, and fell onto to floor, causing a loud thump.

Minutes later, Dawn walked out from her bathroom with a robe and a towel over her head, heading towards the mirror to dry off her hair.

A light thumping sound came from under her bed that caught her attention. She glanced behind her through the mirror to see what it was. "Silly kitty..." she sighed, going back to brushing her hair.

"Meoww." Paws jumped up onto her dresser, knocking down a chapstick or two to the ground.

"Kitty, be good." Dawn smiled, picking up Paws and placing him onto the bed.

Another thump came from under the bed. Dawn ignored the noise. Paws meow'd, clawing at the sheets. A third sound thumped, leading Paws to jump onto the ground and start meowing curiously at the crack between the floor and the sheets.

"Kitty, what are you doing?" Dawn giggled as she got onto her knees to pet him.

A shadow lingered quickly threw the space under her bed. "Meow..." Paws licked his foot as Dawn picked him up. "What do you see down there, kitty?" She lifted the blanket and bent down to peek under her bed, a small and dark shivering figure sat in the back corner against the wall.

"Wha-what in the world?" Dawn stared blankly at the figure in the corner, Paws jumped out from her arms and poked his head under the bed. "Paws, no!" Dawn grabbed her cat quickly and stood up. "What the heck is that? A squirrel?" her voice shook.

She pulled her bed away from the wall and peeked into the corner where the figure was sitting. A small fuzzy ball sat against the wall. "Hello? What is this?" she reached down, trying to be cautious not to scare it, or possibly get bitten by some unrecognizable animal.

The little shaking creature was a pure snow-white color and seemed no bigger than a grown mans fist. It's fur was short, and looked as soft as a rabbit.

She hovered her fingertips inches away from it, shaking. The creature stopped shivering, and flinched quickly. The ball seemed to loosen itself out; it unwrapped itself from it's tail that was thick and longer than it's body, leading a long trail from the top of it's head to the tip of it's a tail, a teal stripe. Two small pointy ears unrolled themselves from the top of it's head as it looked up at Dawn with it's small shiny green eyes. Above it's right eye seemed to be a teal spot in the shape of what resembled a star.

"Aww...and what are you?" Dawn said sweetly, trying not to startle it.

The creature twitched stiffly and quickly darted back under the bed.
