Chapter One-How Did This Happen?

I run faster and faster closer to the edge. Why? Why did it take this long? Everything, all the pieces of the puzzle come together? As tears are rolling down my face, the edge comes closer and closer. Six steps left till the edge. Should I turn around? Five steps left. No its to late. Four steps left. Just keep running you'll be alright.Three steps left. Maybe...no. Two steps left. Thanks mom, dad, Mathew, everyone. One step left. And thanks Lord for this wonderful life you given me. I take one last glance back, I see Chance crying, screaming my name. I stop and slowly turn around. Will this finally be over? How did this all happen? How did such a wonderful bright girl crash so hard? I hear the horrible sounds. I look back towards that man. He steps closer and closer to me, till he is standing one step away from me. I see the smirk in his face.

"Do you wish to change your answer" He asks with a victorious tone in his words.

"No" I say.

I take one step backwards and gravity pulls me down.
