Talia was a nomad wolf.
She never stayed in one location for more than a day.

On a cool spring day, she had set out to hunt.
She never hunted anything more than what she needed.

A hare was on her menu today.

She laid low in the grass, watching the small animal's movements.
She just had it to move to the right... angle...
Talia leapt our of her hiding spot, lunging for the hare.
However, she only landed on cool grass again, the hare taking off in a quick sprint.
Her only food source, and who knew when her next meal would be.

Taking a deep breath, she chased after it.
They were out in the open, so there was no way she could find to possibly corner it.
The chase had to have lasted 5 minutes by now, but despite Talias heaving body, she pushed on.
'It'll get... tired soon... hopefully...'
Just when she was planning to just give up, a massive wolf appeared ahead of her, cutting the hare off, soon having it clenched in its jaws.
The body went still within that minute.
Talia has since come to an abrupt halt, taken by surprise at the new presence.
The grey wolf finally looked at her, the hare dangling from his mouth.

Talia licked her lips, but refused to move, unsure how to respond to the stance.
Fight or flight?
The grey wolf moved first, taking a few steps towards her.

Talia bared her fangs in warning, a low growl emitting, cautiously taking one step back.
The wolf stopped, lowering his ears just slightly.

"Don't you need to eat?" They grey wolf spoke up.
Talia didn't answer for a long time.
'He's a stranger. A loner. A rogue? Did he have a pack he could rally at any moment?'

The grey wolf had since taken a few more steps closer to her, until they stood a mere foot apart.
Their standoff was calm and quiet, both seeming to not feel threatened by the other.
The grey wolf took a couple more steps closer, until he lowered his head, dropping the hare to the ground, inches away from her feet.
He took a couple steps back then, sitting down, watching her and the hare curiously.
Talia glanced down at the offering, then back up at him.

'This could be a trick.' She said.
Her stomach didn't care at the moment.
She cautiously reached down, gathering the hare into her mouth.
When she looked back up at the grey wolf, he seemed to look happy, his tail wagging but just once.
From there, Talia couldn't move from her spot.
Her flight instincts being completely ignored.
The grey wolf chuckled, "I believe you are drooling, Angel."

Talia snapped out of her haze, checking to see if she really was.
No. But she was about to.
Talia set the hare down, picking off one of its limbs before standing again.

"Uh, you can have the rest if you want." Talia said, feeling extremely awkward.
"Are you kidding? That's barely eating. No, it's all yours." The grey wolf replied.
Talia continued to stare at him, again.
"What about you? You caught the hare... it's not fair to-"
"I can always find another one." The gray wolf said dismissively.
Talia remained quiet. Either this wolf was obnoxious or-
"So, what's your name Angel?" The grey wolf asked, laying down casually.
"You first." Talia shot back.
"Ladies first." Cosmic retorted right back.

Talia scoffed, "... Talia. My name is Talia."
The grey wolf nodded his head, a smile forming on his face.

"It's your turn now. What's your name?" Talia asked, sitting down, feeling more comfortable around the wolf.
"Mmm. I prefer to keep that a mystery." The grey wolf smiled more.
Talia laughed, sensing his humor.
"Alright. Well. Mystery, thanks for the catch, but I must be on my way."
"Hey! Wait!" The wolf suddenly jumped up, blocking her path.

Talia tensed at the sudden movement.
Her body filled with a defensive instinct again.
"Uhh. My names Cosmic." He started awkwardly.

Talia seemed to instantly relax at that, once again sensing no danger.
"So, um, where you going?" Cosmic asked.
"Wherever my paws take me." Talia replied simply, calmly walking around the grey wolf.
She could feel Cosmic's eyes on her.
'What am I doing? Don't even think- don't even-'

Apparently, she didn't need to, as she soon heard the sound of another set of paws brushing through the grass, soon walking next to her.

Talia tried her best to pretend she didn't notice him, but her slow smile proved otherwise.
The two wolves wandered through the miles long field, even began to race each other as the sun slowly began to fall above them.
