It feels like goodbye
But I'll see you tomorrow
And the day after that
And it's scary
Because I thought it would be easier
To shove my feelings away
And look at you
Without wanting to explore your soul, mind and body
Hate sounds better
Than the thought of you
Handing me a glazed donut at work
With a smile on your face
And coffee in your left hand
Pretending like nothing happened
Like we never happened
Is it okay? You and me.. Us? We?
Is there you and me?
There was.
But that's all, isn't it?
And I am undeniably angry
Because you can still see right through me
Because you can still see the conflict in my eyes
When your tongue rolls inside your mouth
As you pronounce my name
So deliberately
So easily
Like you're just reading the newspaper out loud
Like you're doing your paperwork
Not bored, but tired...
