Melissa stared at her alarm clock that read 6.30. She wasn't ready to face the people of her school. She was completely certain that there had been a fabricated rumour that has spread through the school like a chain reaction. She also wasn't ready to face the fact that now she has ONE friend and she doesn't even know where he is.

Melissa was worried at the fact that she hadn't wondered where her best gay guy friend had been for the past few months when all the drama had unravelled. He was a sucker for a good story. But then she had to wonder. Was Luke apart of Alison's plan? Was he on her side? Now was the time when she had to question who she trusted. Brent had confused her that day in the elevator. It's weird thinking that that was only two days ago.

Maybe it was possible that Melissa didn't have to go to school. She could just spend the day at the hospital with Jeremy and Sarah. Could she count Sarah as being her friend now? Sarah's ways has definitely changed especially after she didn't have to care about her father's orders as he is, well, dead. Melissa glanced back at the clock at she noticed that it was 7.30. She had literally spent an hour thinking about life. She couldn't possibly get ready to go to school in half an hour. Oh well. She rolled onto her side away from the clock in hopes that she could fall back to sleep.

"MELISSA!!!!" She heard her shrill mother's voice scream. "Why are you not dress?" The sound of her mother's footsteps were getting louder. "Am I going to have to drag you out of bed myself or what?" Melissa's bedroom door slammed so wide it hit the wardrobe causing all the shoeboxes above her wardrobe to fall.

"MOTHER!" She glared at her mother as her mother gasped as she watched her daughter's eyes glow from the dark brown to a fiery yellow. "I'm not going in." She used her Alpha tone and her mother just nodded.

"Melissa." Her father growled appearing out of nowhere. "Never use that tone with your mother. EVER!" A slight draft blew threw her door from the power and authority that rung through his voice. "You have to go in today anyway. There's a new student and he's the Alpha of a pack who we are thinking of joining alliances with. Do it for the future of this pack."

Melissa groaned as her instinct told her to do the thing best for the pack and go in. She whipped her duvet cover off before whipping it back on again after realising she went to sleep in her underwear, not bothering to pick out pyjamas the night before. We heard her father chuckle as a blush crawled up her face. "And remember, dear, pick up the boxes." Her mother said with a sad smile before closing the door.

Jeremy's condition was hardest on her mother. Jeremy and her had a special bond like his her father had with Melissa. Not knowing whether her son would survive the surgery on Wednesday was beginning to take her toll on her and it was showing. Every time a brush through her hair a clump came out and she hadn't eaten anything since Friday morning. She knew that it would have either been Jeremy or one of the others, including the little Abby, but she wished it was anyone else but him and she felt guilty that the 'anyone else' included her daughter.

Melissa ran a brush through her hair while clambering down the stairs in a rush to put her shoes on. She slid on her black ballet pumps and checked herself in the mirror right next to the front door. She looked decent with a leather pleather skirt, a white collared shirt tucked into the skirt and buttoned all the way to the top and she held a cardigan just in case it rained. Her hair held it's natural body wave that she had inherited from her father's side of the family. She looked in the top corner of the mirror to see her mother smiling proudly at her daughter. "You look beautiful, Mel." Melissa smiled back. This was the first time that she had let her mother call her Mel and she didn't roll her eyes. She hated being called Mel since the Spice Girls had both a Mel B and Mel C and in elementary school, boys used to call her scary spice because she could beat up anyone who challenged her in kindergarten.
