Two hearts

Two hearts on fire,
No one to put it out,
But does it need to be put out?
Does it want to be put out?

Two souls lost in the sway,
No one to find them now,
But do they want the old paths back?
Do they need the old ways again?

Two hearts glowing in the dark,
Invisible to all but them,
Is the darkness really bad?
Why, then, does it feel safe?

Two hearts hidden in the smoke,
No one to clear it out,
But is sight always good,
How peaceful, to lay back in the warm blankets with no dreams of the outside

Ignorance is bliss,
And blindness peace,
Two hearts with no dreams,
But the hope to just dream.

Isn't it lovely, all alone
With no one to see but us,
Hope, for hope, and dreams of dreaming
Photographs of the light that keeps us going

But the joy, to shed the curtains,
To get out, face the lights,
Face the winds,
To find adventure

Let the fire in your heart never stop,
But let it heat up the world,
Hold your matches,
And light up the storms

Let the lost souls find their own ways,
And map the future,
Show them the seas of bliss
And islands of hope

Let glowing hearts share their light,
And be the hearth in the ice
Let flames burn away,
But only the shadows of yesterday

The smoke, there will always be smoke,
But there must be smoke if there is to be the fire
So let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
