The gunder

Chapter 1- the interview

two cameramen entered the mental institution walking to the front office smiling seeing where melody could be at, they wanted to interview her because stories had been going around that more and more people had been going missing ever since she was put in the mental institute.
The two men asked the nurse where melody could be at she kindly pointed to a rocking chair near the window where melody was sitting, she seemed sad and alone not even the people in there would talk to her so They gently walked over and smiled " hello miss we are from the Fox news, and we wanted to interview you on the night of your friends disappearance.
Melody looked at them in anger " he didn't disappear he was eaten alive by that horrid creature that's still lurking around here in gunderton you have to warn them that the creature is dangerous!" The two men stared at her and were a little concerned by how she was talking but took a breath and started talking again " alright well how about you tell us what happened so we can tell the world what to look out for alright?"

Melody nodded slowly and smiled " I would be happy to tell you what happened. How should I start?"

The two cameramen stared at each other and then nodded staring at her " why don't you start with your name and then your story."

She nodded " well, Alright my name is Melody, Melody Sweets and I live in a small town called Gunderton. I'm 30 years old now, and my story goes back to when i was 17. People didn't really like me much because i told them stories about a creature named the gunder, they all thought i was crazy the townspeople called me "Crazy Mel" but it didn't stop there, after weeks of trying to get them to listen they threw me in this looney house.

The two cameramen just sat there in confusion " what is the gunder exactly miss?' She laughed for a bit then started to explain, "well the gunder is a creature that has sharp teeth that could tear a hole in your flesh, white eyes to hunt you down with, and its body is large and hairy like an ape it lurks in the shadows ,and it can fly swiftly through the night like a bat,it can eat you up in a heartbeat without no hesitation."

The two cameramen stared at her fear engulfing their eyes but they were also very interested, so they kept pointing the camera at her. She saw their interest peaking she smiled widely continuing her story " well it was close to Halloween so me and my friends Mika, Mikan, Sam, and roxy decided to throw a Halloween party everyone knew what to bring and where to meet at which was my place. I was so excited to have the party with my friends again because it had been forever since we had all hung out together. I waited for the 3:00 o'clock bell to ring.

Once it did I ran home to get ready for the party, but as I did I felt a eerie feeling like someone is watching you feeling, so I decided to go faster, and the faster I went the feeling wouldn't go away. So as soon as I saw my home I booked it and entered my house panting softly trying to catch my breath i was home alone. My mom was at home and my dad was out of town.

After i caught my breath and i knew that i was safe I decide to enter my room and get dressed for the party. I didn't want to do my homework so I thought I would just start on my homework later.
I decided to bake cookies, string the lights, and put on some scary movies for when they arrived we could watch them. After I got done I heard a knock on my door I quickly ran and opened it seeing all of my friends I let them in and we all had a blast we watched scary movies, ate a lot, and played games.

Well after a while Mika and me were the first ones to fall asleep until we heard roxy, Sam, and mikan investigating the house trying to figure out what the loud banging was and the scratching. They tiptoed down the stairs and looked around,all they saw was a black tall figure with sharp claws and white glowing eyes. They all looked at the creature their eyes wide with fear, they slowly crept back up the stairs and quickly woke me and mika up. We slowly opened our eyes to see terrified faces I looked at them with concern wondering why they looked like they had just seen a ghost " what's wrong?" I asked.
they all just silently pointed to the stairs and didn't say anything else. I stood slowly and started walking, Sam followed behind me. We both slowly crept down the stairs looking around not seeing the creature, but seeing the black ooze trail that was left behind. We looked around the kitchen for a bit me not finding anything strange or unusual just seeing the black ooze everywhere I looked back to say something to sam but he was gone, then all of a sudden I heard Him scream. I quickly looked over and saw Sam being dragged away by the creature my eyes widened and I quickly started running after him trying to grab him before the creature took off, but it was too late I was so close to grabbing him, but it started to fly away and I stopped and just stood staring at him not knowing what to do.

My eyes swelled up with tears as I saw Sam being taken away probably forever. I slowly stood and quickly ran back to my house screaming " sams gone he has been taken by the Gunder!" Everyone came down the stairs along with my mom staring at me repeating the questions " what's wrong or what happened where's Sam?!"

I just stared at them and uttered the words that could barely escape my mouth " he was taken..by the gunder" my mom and friends just stared at me like I was crazy. Mom told me to go to my room and said that my friends we're going home. more tears streamed down my face as she told me all this " why, they saw it too, tell them guys" they just stared at me and my mom staying quiet, but Mikan whispered " we don't know what we saw to be fair." She then looked away sighing softly.

My eyes widened I couldn't believe what she had just said so I angrily went to my room and slammed the door sobbing. I laid on my bed and wiped my tears as I heard my friends moms pull up one by one and take them home. I grabbed my phone and stared at Sam's picture after a few minutes of staring his number appeared on my phone screen I hesitantly pressed the answer button,and all I heard was a faint sound of his voice, his breath heavy wheezing sounding like he was in pain. My chest ached hearing this, but what I heard next made my heart almost stop I heard Sam speak quietly into the phone ' m-melody please..help me..' after that I heard screeching and clawing then silence. My eyes widened when the phone went off I sobbed curling up in my bed.

I didn't sleep that night, I waited until the sun came up. I jumped to the sound of my phone going off I quickly grabbed it then sighed softly seeing it was an amber alert a girl from our town had gone missing she actually went to our school, then another and another by then I saw three amber alerts on my phone about children going missing one of them was Sam. I slowly put my phone away and headed down stairs seeing my mom cooking breakfast. She smiled happily " hey Mel, I'm sorry about last night but you were acting crazy." I looked away and stayed quiet grabbing a piece of toast and went back to my room doing my homework I was so glad that today was Saturday.
