(Emmy's POV)

Okay so I guess you can tell by now that my name is either Emma or Emily. Well, for your information I happen to hate both names. My name is Emily, though. Emily Surber, to be exact. But please call me Emmy. I hate the name Emily, as I mentioned earlier.

Until the summer before seventh grade, I didn't know who Joshua Thurman was. I didn't even know he existed. Until one of my best friends, Hannah Dawn, showed me his profile. I requested to add him and in our first conversation we became friends. I don't know, destiny probably? What I know now is he is a friend I could never forget.

So, I'll walk you through it, I guess. It was around May or June some time.. You know, let's just say May 23rd. Okay so on May 23rd, Hannah came on chat with me and told me about this guy, Josh. He was a year older than both of us, but in our grade. No, he wasn't held back. He's just that wicked.

I asked Hannah if it would be okay if I added him, and she said yes. So I requested him and he accepted. (You know, I think Josh may have a better memory about this compared to me. Since I tend to be a... Forgetter.) He came on my chat and I believe he asked me why I added him. I responded with something around the terms of 'I saw you were friends with Hannah, so I requested you.' or... Something like that. As I said before, I tend to be a forgetter.

Within less than a month--Or two--Josh and I became close friends. I knew I could trust Josh with anything, more than even one of my other closest friends, and he'd know just what to do. See, that's the thing about Josh. He knows exactly what it's to be dealt with and how. I don't.

I'm not going to say something like 'Josh and I are complete opposites, so I don't know how we're even friends, but we are.' or some crap like that. Josh and I are pretty similar. Really similar, actually. So, eventually, Josh and I started thinking of each other as brother and sister.

You know, from what we've gone through, I think we're the freaking best brother and sister on the earth.

Do I come off as rude to you? I'm not really. I'm just straight forward. I've learned over the years that if you're too subtle with someone you get walked all over.

Josh and I refuse to get walked all over. That's why when others try to lay a foot, or anything, on us... We fight back. Hard.
