My name is Erin Walker and I am 17 years old. I attend G. W. High school. I am going into my senior year of high school with a secret that has been weighing on on me for about 6 years now.
I wake up to the sound of my phone alarm going off for the 3rd time, and I quickly jump up and get dressed realizing I may be late. I walk into school on the first day of senior year and I immediately see my best friend standing at my locker.
"HEY!!!!," Briana exclaims. "We're seniors now!"
Briana is the hyper one of us. She's always been that way. She's 5'4 and she has a caramel complexion. She's the easiest one to get along with out of us because she's very social and the opposite of me. She's also on the cheer team which she can channel all of her hyper ness into.
Briana snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I know. Now can you move so i can get into my locker," I state.
"What's got you all twisted up, you should be excited." Briana glares at me and looks back down at her phone.
"I'm just tired that's all," I say just to get her off my back.
I close my locker and give my best friend a hug before going to my first class of the day.
When school was over, I walked out to my 2017 red Jeep. My best friend and I got matching cars for our 16th birthdays. She got white and I wanted red. I drove off speeding home only to see that my little brother is locked out the house again.
"Josh did you forget your key in the house again?" I asked already knowing the answer.
"Yeah," he said.
Other than my best friend, my little brother is the closest person to me. Ever since our father passed in 2015, I've tried my best to keep him sane. My brother and I are 2 years apart and he's a junior at GWHS. He towers over me at 6'3, and I'm 5'6, so everyone thinks i'm the youngest.
I walk up to the door and unlock it. "Where's mom?" I ask.
"She's at work and won't be home until 5."
I roll my eyes and walk upstairs to my room to call my best friend.
It rang twice before she picked up. "Hey bestie!!! What's up?"
"Come over."
"Alright I'll be there in 5."
5 minutes later I hear her banging on the door. I go downstairs to open the door and we go straight up to my room to talk about our first day.
A few hours later I hear the door downstairs knowing it was my mom coming in. The aroma of pizza filled the air. Briana and I jumped up quick since we hadn't eaten since school.
"Hi mom," I say noticing that she's turn toward the fridge.
"Hi sweetie. How was your first day of senior year?" she asked turning around facing me.
"Oh and hey little lady. You staying for dinner Briana?"
""Of course Mrs. Walker. You know I am," she says making my mom laugh a little.
Like myself, my mom is 5'6 and she's 38, but you would think we were twins since she looks so young. She has long black hair that stop at her back and she's thick. I see where I get it from.
My brother comes from around the corner with a look that says he's about to devour everything in front of him.
"Don't even think about it," my mom says, already knowing what he's thinking.
"What?" he asked playing dumb.
Finally, we sit down at the table and we all have at the pizza my mom brought in. My best friend ends up staying like always.
Later that night
I get in the shower and 20 minutes later I get out throwing on my light blue PINK pajama set. My best friend comes in the room and we lay down and watch Martin reruns until we fall asleep.
Hey i know this chapter was hella boring , but the book gets better. I'm going to try to do at least 2 chapter a day. Thoughts on the characters so far??
