Alex's POV

Whats the best way to come out to a catholic family

I type into the google search engine. I click on a link, Quora opens and, still nothing helpful. The little vibrating sound a phone makes when your getting a call sounds and I grab my phone. "Hey Alex! Whats up" Sage asks.

I smile, "You know, the usual. Sitting at my computer, wishing I've already graduated high school even though I'm only a Junior" I click off Quora and pause my Spotify playlist.

"You know one day your gonna wish that you'd had a social life instead of living on tumblr and ramen" he laughs.

"Gee Sage, your so supportive" I say dryly. I glance around my room and see all the bowls that had ramen in them.

"Okay, I see your point" I say. I hear him chuckle. "Alexandria! Time to get ready for church" my mom calls.

I groan, "Hey Sage, I gotta go to church. Wish me luck" I say and hang up.

I grab the outfit I have sitting on my bed and head to the bathroom. I look in the mirror and see my messed up, long black hair staring back at me.

I wish I could cut it.

Or dye it.

Or both!

I slip on my nice black jeans and a white blouse. Ugh this looks so formal! I groan to myself in the mirror. "Alex! Hurry up! Theres other people in this house too" Valencia says from outside the door.

"Use the other bathroom or mom and dads" I say, agrivated.

"Mom and dad are using theirs and Emil's using the other" She retorts. I groan. I brush my teeth and run a brush through my hair and watch it poof up. I sigh, again!

"Alex! Hurry or I'm gonna tell mom" Valencia says.

"Ugh! Fine" I huff and open the door. I pull straightener. If only they worked for sexuality as well as hair. I laugh to myself.

"Whats so funny?" She asks with a mouth full of tooth paste. I look away in disgust and plug it in.

"Nothing I just thought of something Sage told me earlier" I say. I grab my black and silver choker and my silver cross necklace, fiddling with the clasp I finally get them on. I sigh.

Okay now its time for hair. "Your lucky mom does yours" I muse while straightening my hair.

"Your lucky your hair doesn't have to be in cornrows or a braid to look decent" She says. I roll me eyes and look in the mirror. Eh, good enough. I unplug the striaghtener and put it in my drawer.

I walk back to my room and slip on my black and white converse. I look in my mirror and smile. Its girly but not as bad as it could be. Valencia's wearing a dress!

I grab my phone and walk downstairs. I plop on the couch and scroll through Instagram. "Alexandria! What are you doing, You are not wearing black to church. Or a choker! GO change right now" my mom says angrily.

"Yes mom" I say, trying to stay calm. I take off the choker on my way up the stairs and slam the door to my room.

"Don't you dare slam that door Alex!" My dad yells from down the hall. I groan, I can't do any damn thing right. I mumble to myself. I slip on light blue jeggings. This better appease her. I text Sage, Hey do you think your parents would adopt me lmao

I put my phone in my pocket. "Kids! Its time to go, get down here" My mom says. Oh great.

Time for church.
