"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the life, & mourn the passing of a great friend, son, cousin, & more. Gorrest Fump."
(Flashback to Savannah, Georgia. 1 week before Gorrest's passing)
"Daddy always told me life was like a box of chocolates... or something like that", as Gorrest ponders with an elderly man on a park bench.
"My name's Fump, Gorrest Fump. What's your name?"
The man sits for a moment & turns & says quite hatefully, "Bill."
"I like that name. Must be named after some famous person, huh? Daddy named me after some shrimpin' boat man or something. Or was it that famous ping-pong player?"
The man still sits, now becoming irritated with Gorrest. He slightly turns in the bench & tries to ignore him.
"You wanna see what's in my box?" says Gorrest.
The man, oddly curious, turns & slightly faces Gorrest. Intrigued at what could be in this mans box.
Gorrest reaches under the park bench, grabs a box slightly bigger than a shoe box & sets it between him & the old man. On the top it appears to be wrote on with crayon. As the old man takes a closer look he can finally make out the words "Keep sake".
"This is my keepsake box. I put all keepsakes in it."
As he is opening the box, the chapter ends.
