what's up y'all, so this story is all from virgil's pov. this starts a little bit back when he first shows up from deceit's grasp. ~

"oh come on kitten, you don't mean that," deceit purred into my ear.

i growled, i was sick of this shit. i needed to escape. i was sick of causing harm, doing deciet's bidding. i don't want to be a dark side anymore. "i can't do this anymore deceit! i'm leaving!" i screamed into his face.

deceit smirked, "and go where? the mind palace? do you really think the light sides will let you up there? you belong here, you're anxiety for god's sake. you're one of us virgil. don't deny it. we can do great things together."

i scoffed, "i do NOT belong here!" i squeezed my eyes shut and tried to conjure up as much strength as i could.

i slowly opened my eyes and looked around. i was in a new spot. i scanned the room, there was a large living room to my right, a huge kitchen to my left, and a big staircase ahead of me. my eyes widened, i did it. i'm in the mind palace. i escaped. i turned around slowly, looking around in awe. suddenly i heard a gasp, i turned and saw a person who looked just like me standing at the top of the stairs. he was wearing a light blue polo shirt and a cardigan around his shoulders, he was wearing a pair of nerdy glasses. "g-guys? we have a visitor!" the person called behind him.

suddenly two other identical people followed behind him, one was wearing a prince outfit, and the other was wearing a black polo shirt and a blue tie with nerd glasses. "who are you?!" the prince exclaimed.

i started shaking, i didn't know what to say, i'm anxiety for god's sake, i hate meeting new people. i collapsed onto the ground and brought my knees to my chest. I cried hard, "aw," the first one said softly, "he's scared."

"what is your name?" the side with the neck tie stated.

i looked up slowly, "i-i'm virgil."

neck tie's eyes widened, "ah yes, you are anxiety."

"anxiety?" the prince gasped, "the dark side?! how did he get up here?"

"i'm not sure, it's nearly impossible."

"p-please," i stuttered, "let me stay. d-deceit is awful, i can't go back."

the first side came up to me and knelt next to me and place a hand on my shoulder, i flinched away. "aw guys, can we keep 'em? i don't think he means any harm. who knows what deceit will do when he goes back!"

"i suppose he can stay for a few nights, i would like to run a few tests on him while he's hear though," neck tie said cooly and then he left.

i gulped. "i'm patton," the first side said calmly.

the prince came up to me and crossed his arms, he looked me up and down, "i'm roman. i do not trust you. so don't expect me to play nice." and with that he left.

patton giggled, i couldn't help but smile, "don't mind them, they don't like new people. the one who's going to experiment on you is logan. but don't worry, he may act like he's a stone cold statue of knowledge, but he's really a sweetheart," he winked at me.

i smiled weakly at him, "thank you patton," i said.

"aw shucks, don't sweat it kiddo. i'm just glad i could help you."

i smiled a bit wider, "no really, no one has ever cared for me before."

patton gasped and pulled me into a hug, i tensed up, "oh you poor thing! well don't worry because i'm literally thomas's heart so i will care for you all the dang time!"

"w-who's thomas?" i asked.

patton's face was now confused, "he's our host. we're in his mind right now."

"oh," i said, "so that's his name, deceit just called him host," i shrugged.

"well, let's go get a room set up for you, i'm sure i can whip something up." he took my hand and pulled me upstairs. he snapped and there at the end of the hallway was a new door. "there! all for you!" he pulled me towards the door. i opened the door and in it was a normal room with all white furniture and decorations. "all you have to do is decorate and then it'll be you're new home!"

i smiled, looking around, tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. "wow," i said, "thank you."

"oh come on, you don't need to thank me! all i did was snap my fingers!" he patted my back before heading for the door, "just holler if you need anything!" and with that, i was alone again.

i flopped down onto the bed, the puffy sheet devouring. I soon fell into a deep sleep. ~
