My Carrot

I bite the orange carrot in frenzied delight

The same color as the soft warm light

That shines down on yours truly

That shows off my fur (unruly)

I love to bite the carrot so

But soon my desire starts to grow

So I don't hesitate or linger,

To bite down on my owner's finger
