(A/N disclaimer I do not own the cover art or the characters from BNHA. The only thing I own is the OC Mai and the story. Enjoy!)

It was just coffee Iida thought. She had offered to take him to a cafe as a thank you for saving her. Of course, he accepted, not wanting to be rude.

He didn't expect her to ask him on a second date. And he certainly didn't expect to wake up in bed with her three months later with no memory of the last two days and a splitting headache.

The last thing he remembered was walking home with her after an outing. They had gone for dinner and something was spilled on him. She offered to let him use her shower and wash his clothes since she lived close by. He accepted the offer not wanting to ride the train back to school in dirty clothes. Mai lived in a small apartment with two roommates neither of which were there when they arrived. Iida quickly got into the shower leaving his clothes by the door so they could be washed. Mai had said she had something he could wear and would bring them in for him so he wasn't alarmed when the bathroom door opened. What started him was when Mai invited herself into the shower with him!

"Wh-what are you doing!?" He stuttered, stumbling out of the shower and pulling a towel around his waist. "I was unaware you were wanting to shower as well I apologize for taking to long!"

Mai rolled her eyes and turned off the water.

"Tenya I was trying to have a bit of fun. Is that so wrong?" She asked innocently.

"I...I just...feel as though things like this should be discussed beforehand. I'm not comfortable with that particular course of action Mai I hope you understand."

She didn't. They spent the next few hours arguing loudly over the matter. Iida tried to reason with her but she wouldn't listen! Then she started to cry... Iida could never think straight when she cried! He would become flustered and confused. He hadn't meant to make her cry! He hadn't meant to make her feel unloved the way she was claiming she felt! The argument escalated but the details were fuzzy to Iida. He couldn't remember what ended it...he couldn't remember going to bed there. He did, however, remember that it was Saturday the 12th when they had fought and according to the alarm clock by the bed, it was Monday the 14th.

"Iida you are well over an hour late to class and you did not check-in last night. Care to explain where you have been?" Aizawa looked the disheveled class rep up and down. In the years Iida had been in his class he had never been late once. He had never broken curfew without valid reason and he certainly had never shown up to class out of uniform

"I...I am very sorry this behavior is excusable, it will never happen again sir." Iida bowed low and quickly got into his seat, avoiding the question of where he had been.

Class was a nightmare that day. Iida couldn't focus on what was being taught, he felt nauseous all day, and he desperately wanted his classmates to stop looking at him. He knew he looked like a train wreck he didn't need then staring at him as a reminder. He just wanted to go to his room and pretend today didn't happen.

"Class dismissed. Iida I want to talk to you, stay seated."

Iida's friends shot him sympathetic looks as they exited the classroom. Even Bakugo gave him a  pitying glance.

"I'm sure you know what I'm going to ask you. But I'm going to ask it anyway. Where have you been? We called your brother and he informed us that you were not with him or your family over the weekend. None of your classmates were informed on where you were going. You are a smart kid Iida you know you should always have someone know where you are. Now go on and explain where you have been."
