The Blind Marriage

Chapter 20

Meirong seemed to chuckle once again at this overexcited, clingy girl "that's all good, and I'm sure your husband would be delighted for you to cook for him, but Mengrui is currently Married so he can't marry you right now"

Mine and Mengrui's head snapped to his mother as she said that "To who!" a now furious Shuying said with annoyance in her tone, I looked at Mengrui he seemed to be in a slight panic

Mengrui was looking at me worried, he mouth "go now" he said as his mother pointed to me "he's married to Shuanghui" she said with slight happiness to her tone which kinda made me want to smile if it wasn't for the worried look Mengrui was giving me

I pushed myself up off my seat "Ayi, I should get going" I said rather quickly and Mengrui stood up to and we both headed for the door

"I don't believe that, there is no way you Mengrui would marry him" She shouted, "I said you would marry me" she continued

he frowned at her, he wasn't pleased about her shouting in his house "Calm down Shuying, even if you said you would marry me I never once agreed to it" he said with a slightly raised voice towards her, what pissed me off was the amused look on Dianfa's face as he watched his sister complain

"Please don't argue" Meirong pleaded "this isn't their fault Shuying and you were a child when you made that promise and Mengrui is right he never did agree to it" she tried to explain

I watched, but as soon as I saw her hand raise I grabbed Mengrui and pulled him behind me, he stumbled but clung onto my arm for balance as I held it protectively infront of him "if you want to blame or hit someone then do it to me, this wasn't his fault in the first place, and anyways it's not your choice on who he marries now is it" I said to her as calm as possible but the annoyance in my tone couldn't be hidden "you can tell him that you want to marry him but it's not just your choice if he does or doesn't it has to be mutual" I kind of flinched at my own words remembering the scene at the resturant when we both agreed due to the things our father said, we never had a mutual agreement with each other, Dianfa just watched, his amused expression weavered as Mengrui looked down at the floor from behind me, I glanced at him but quickly turned catching Shuying's wrist as she went to swing at me "last time you hit me I wasn't expecting it, this time I was, If you want to hit me then don't hit me in the face please" I growled out at her in a low voice

Mengrui looked up and I looked at him as he moved he had tears in his eyes "stop it" he said quietly, "just stop fighting, Shuying I agreed to marry him, so can you please stop, he doesn't deserve to be hit, he was forced into it, I was only asked to do it and I agreed" 

Dianfa chose that moment to get up and deal with his sister to make her sit down, I let go of her wrist and cupped Mengrui's face in my hand's wiping away the tear that fell "hey don't cry" he looked down but didn't attempt to move away "Xiao Rui" I said softly before letting out a sigh "you should eat something alright, I'm gonna go home if you need me just call" he went to protest looking up at me and I shook my head cutting him off "I should go I've caused enough trouble, and this isn't your fault either" I gave him a soft smile before I let him go walking out of the room and house, I got on my bike and drove off before he could stop me, he was crying and I knew if I stayed I'd probably not be able to hold back my anger towards that girl

Mengrui POV

he walked out before I could stop him, he cut off my protest of him leaving but something in me said it was probably better if he did, he didn't seem like he was able to take much more of what was happening, I let out a sigh and sat down on the floor laying my head into my knees and wrapping my arms around my legs, Shuying seemed to calm down from whatever Dianfa said to her, I felt something nudge me as I sat there and glanced to see a small white Japanese Spitz, he barked at me and I sat up a bit laying my legs down, he climbed into my lap and I slowly stroked my finger through his fur "hey Xiao Xing" I smiled slightly to him, I looked up at my mother who held a bowl out to me with some rice and food from the table, I take it from her "thank you" I mumble quietly and she gave me a warm smile

I started eating the food Xing snuggled comfortably in my lap "I'm Sorry" I hear Shuying say, I didn't glance up at her I just sat there quietly eating, the food tasted good, but the company that surrounded it was bitter and it kind of made me lose my appitite so I didn't eat much of the food given to me, I got up and went into the kitchen putting the bowl on the side and taking the medication that I had, I grimiced at the taste of the tablets and quickly drank them back with water, I then walked back to the dining room not paying any attention to the concerned looks on Dianfa and Shuyings face "sorry ma, I'm going to go and rest, I don't feel too well" I mumbled and headed up the stairs Xing following close behind me, I went into my room and shut and locked my door before picking Xing up and put him on my bed to cuddle and pet him, I felt drained after today and it was only around 3:00 pm, I soon fell asleep with Xing cuddled in my arms
