Who knows how long the Tesseract has truly been on Earth. Years passed and various pieces of tech was reverse engineered and developed but what if it was never meant to be used for that...
As an experiment went awry, a portal opened over SHIELD HQ...
"Operator Ruezel, I don't think this is a wise course of action," a synthetic voice lulled the silent cockpit of the Xiphos. Cephalon Ordis, the ship's Intelligence, tried to reason with its owner.
A young woman was meditating in front of the navigation console. She was silent and still, her breathing the only show of movement. "Operator?" The Cephalon prodded again.
"It's Drifter, Ordis." Ruezel scratched Fidget on the head, carefully avoiding the antennae like ears.

Excalibur Umbra stood motionless in the arsenal. Ruezel softly touched his cheek. "Wake up, old friend," she whispered. Umbra's bio lights changed to Lilac at her touch. His helmet turned to look at her, his hand resting over hers, shoulders sagged with relief.
"You ready?" Umbra nodded. "Then it's time to finish this." Ruezel disappeared, transferring to Umbra.
