Chapter 1: Never Better

MIKAYLLA's POV

The sky was colored turquoise and the Sun seemed to shine brighter than ever.
I flinched as the sun's rays shined on my eyes blinding me for a split second.
The tinted windows of this stupid car didn't seem to protect my eyes at all, It only prevented the people from the outside to see who was inside.

"Kay?...are you alright?"

I turned to my left and saw the worried look on my Older sister.

I faked a smile and nodded.

"Yeah Shay, I just needed to squint my eyes a little..."

I pretended although i knew what she Truly meant.

She didn't ask any further. I was actually relieved when she didn't, We both knew what happened and I'm still pissed about her because of it.

No, Scratch that.

I hated her.

I will never forget that moment. Never

I tried to avert my thought's away from that horrible subject and thought of my friends.

Kim...

I wondered what she was doing in that very instant as i watched cars pass by on the other road. Ours was not even moving because of the traffic up front.

I looked up to the front seat's and saw my parent's sitting quietly as the air was filled with an unbearable awkward silence.

I couldn't blame them...after what happened, they must be disappointed with me.
Suddenly, I felt something vibrate on my back pocket as i sat up properly and reached it.

FROM KIM:

HEY...I HEARD ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED...WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?
I HOPE I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG...

I frowned at Kim's text as i typed her a quick reply.

TO KIM:

YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG...IM OKAY REALLY...

Was all i replied before silencing my phone and looked out the window.

*Flashback 2 weeks ago*

"If you tell even a single soul about this, your as good as dead!"
Katherine yelled, a pack of cigarettes in hand.
I gulped nervously, backing away from them with only one thing in my mind and it was to GET AWAY.
I know better than to mess with Katherine and her followers.

But as i was backing away, I tripped on what seemed to be a wet floor and accidentally caused the mop to flip and come splashing dirty water directly in their faces.
I stood frozen for a bit and ran when one of them yelled.
"What the?!- You idiot!"
I picked myself up and started running as fast as i could, not knowing where to go.
I wasn't much of an athletic person so i was a slow runner.
I looked nervously behind me to see
the three fuming girl's that where soaked.
My body was tired and so was my mind thinking of where to go.

It wasn't until they finally caught up to me and tackled me to the ground.
They started punching and kicking me until small drops of blood escaped my nose.
Behind them was a girl i surely knew.

Shay.

She stood there, eyes wide full of shock her textbooks in hand.
"S-shay....Help...." I managed to squeeze out despite my condition
But she only stood there, watching.

Not sad but not amused either.

She seemed to be in deep thought as her feet took control and walked away like nothing happened.

I couldn't believe her...

My own sister...

After the three had enough, they looked down at me one last time before practically spitting the words.

"Your just trash."

Then left, leaving me with blood stains on my shirt and tears visible on my cheeks.

*End of Flashback*

"KAY?!" I quickly looked up to see Mom who was calling me.

"Y-yes?" I asked innocently.

"You've been staring into nowhere since this morning, are you sure you're alright?"

I inhaled deeply before smiling at them and said:

"Never better"
