The girl had a pin on her shirt that read, "Hello, my name is: Don't talk to me!"
I chuckled and turned back to the others and watched as they jumped on Blaire.
"So tell me," the pixie cut girl said, "AH, N, or S?"
"N." Blaire said
"You're dating a nerd? Do you happen to have some gunpowder?" Seashell asked, "By the way, my name is Ryan."
I shook his outstretched hand. Ryan pointed down the street and said to lead the way. We walked to my house, me being in the lead. It took us just over an hour with all the stops from people in town threatening to call the cops on us.
"Don't worry we will be good." Ryan would yell back then turn to us, "Honestly, the paranoia of some people."
We got to my house, everyone but Blaire and I stayed outside. I went inside and got my small bag of explosive powder. I made sure to grab the one that wouldn't go off if it was rattled. I have some strange stuff in my desk drawers.
I came back out, Blaire stayed to go to the bathroom before leaving. I handed the bag to Ryan and he mixed it into a tube with a red powder in it. He stapled the top of the tube shut and then put a fuse down into a small hole in the side.
"Multi-color flare fireworks." He explained
"You people are crazy." I said
"You think we are crazy, you haven't met Mark, he throws parties in the warehouses and they last for days!"
"Interesting."
We walked down the other way, towards all the abandoned warehouses, Ryan with fireworks in hand.
"Hold on, let's go get Isaac." Ryan said, turning to a particularly shabby house with a ramp next to the stairs
Ryan went to the door and knocked. A skinny, young boy, about ten, in a wheelchair sat in the doorway. An older women appeared behind him and nodded to Ryan. Isaac go very excited as Ryan dropped the tube in his lap and wheeled him down the ramp.
"We are good to go."
We finished our trip into the warehouse district. Ryan lead us into a very tall, long warehouse with a red square of cloth hanging from the window. Isaac leaned forward and pushed open the door. Apparently, the walls and door were sound proofed because as soon as the door opened, some of the loudest music I have heard started pouring from the doorway like water, rushing from a drainpipe. The air hung cloudy with many bright coloured dusts, and we soon saw why, there was a pit were several dozen people were throwing handfuls of chalk dust at each other. They called the chalk, pixie dust. Ryan handed me a neon green bandana and gestured to put it over my mouth and nose.
"Keep the dust out of your lungs." He said, grabbing some dust from a bin beside the door
He threw it at the crowd as soon as the last person put on the bandana. As soon as the cloud erupted, hoots, hollers and screams echoes through the warehouse as everyone ran to the pit.
