At the beginning, there was nothing.
That's how all mythology starts, isn't it? At least they're all in agreement there. There was nothing, and there was nothing for quite a long time. Then, the nothing woke up, and became a something.
At first, the something was just a consciousness, floating through the darkness of the beginning. Such darkness is indescribable, as only three people in this Multiverse have ever seen such darkness, and none are in the habit are shaking knowledge of the beginning. It was such a long time ago that it doesn't quite seem worth sharing really.
The consciousness eventually got bored of being alone in the dark. There is only so much alone time one can handle after all, before one longs for entertainment, or company, or in the case of this particular consciousness, light. And perhaps a form to take besides shapeless matter.. So, the consciousness flipped the metaphorical light switch, and suddenly the emptiness was filled with thousands of bright lights, some larger or smaller or dimmer or brighter, all new. They came to be called stars.
Then, the consciousness made itself a body. Glimmering black hair, white eyes as bright as the stars, and skin black as the emptiness between. He chose the name Ender, as large black wings spread behind him, speckles of gleaming white running through them. The first Creator of the Multiverse. In the view of Christians, that kind of makes him God.
Quickly, he got started on making more, his eyes alight with ideas. First he made a planet, his eyes alight as excitement as he put everything in his imagination onto this world. Plants, animals, lakes and oceans, a virtual paradise for any human to wander into. But humans didn't exist yet. They wouldn't for Resets to come.
After the normal, more mundane animals were made, the ones mentioned in every creation story humans have made, Ender began to make more interesting animals. First were huge spiders, with powerful venom that could take down a horse. He made a creature that could explode at will, and a creature made of fire. He made another layer to his world too, where he put the creature made of fire, so it wouldn't burn down the Overworld. Neither creature had much intelligence, but he enjoyed watching the chaos they caused. Then, he turned to the sea, creating agents of chaos there too. These, he gave more intelligence to, as he wanted them to be Guardians of the sea, and everything in it.
Then, he created the first humanoids. They looked remarkably like him, the same glowing white eyes and the same pitch black skin, but that was where the similarities ended. He made their arms and legs incredibly long, so they could cover long distances in a short amount of time. He gave them the ability to pick up pieces of the world and carry it with them. Instead of wings, he gave them the ability to teleport, so they could easily get away from the beings of chaos he had created. And most importantly, he gave them the ability to built, to make things, and even to create primitive life. So the first God made a species in his form, by they weren't humans. They were Endermen. Humanity is not nearly as important as they believe themselves to be.
Then life evolved. Ender created even more levels to his little world, and made clever ways for the Endermen to get to them and explore. He placed secrets under the sea for them to find and theorize about. He was happy for a long while.
It is important to understand that the Multiverse did not exist at this point. There was only one universe with three dimensions, and it belonged to Ender. Later, more Creators would form, and create universes of their own, and thus the Multiverse would officially begin. But for now, it was just Ender. And even though he had created life, he was lonely.
So, he created more. He created a species that resembled him more closely, putting them in the last layer of the world he had created. They had large wings like he did, and could create life, but not like he could. No one could create life like he could, not yet. He gave them two forms, one humanoid, and one that he called dragon.
These dragons are not the kinds that made it into human mythology. They had long, scaly bodies that snaked through the air, and four rather short legs to carry them over land. Their huge wings had feathers rather than scales, and large spikes framed their faces. They had mannerisms similar to that of a cat, and they were the most powerful magical creatures that existed then, besides Ender.
Ender chose to appear as one of his dragons whenever he descended to his world, preferring that form to his more humanoid one. It was more comfortable for him. And then, during one of his visits, he met Ember.
He found Ember beautiful. She was a silver dragon with vibrant violet eyes. She was a curious one, exploring every realm she could get to and taking notes on them, and the creatures she found living there. She'd tell every dragon who would listen about what she found, almost like she was a radio host reporting the news. She found Ender one day, and started telling him her discoveries. The rest, as they say, was history.
They had an egg. A single egg, that stayed unhatched for a very long time. It was the oldest egg in the Multiverse. Ender created a special realm for that egg, a realm that he and Ember guarded carefully. This was the only realm that he didn't create a gateway to, not yet.
By this time, the two other creators had come into being, along with the Multiverse. Ender took care of the Creators, helping them whenever they needed his help. He was the first, the older brother and father rolled into one being. He grew busy, unable to guard his egg as much as he needed, so Ember gave the Endermen a way into the realm where the egg was kept. They became guards, unable to leave the realm for very long, for fear the egg would be stolen. This realm became the End.
Without the Endermen on the Overworld, Ender made new beings who could explore his realms. The first version was not very intelligent at all, and they were also not as curious as Ender wanted. They built their villages and traded their goods, and had no interest in leaving the communities they built. Ender grew bored with them, so he made creatures out of their corpses, zombies and skeletons, making each new creature into a whole new species to fill his world, and fill the other realms he had made. He took the Villagers, and made more beings of chaos.
Then he tried again, and was more pleased with his second try. These people were able to gather resources and craft objects, and they loved exploring, eager to learn more. He did not give them the ability to teleport, because he wanted to see what their response would be to all the other creatures he made, especially the hostile ones. They crafted weapons, they created strongholds, and he was pleased. They were resilient, they found ways to survive, and Ender loved them. They were the Mortals.
Then, he made the Creatives, beings more powerful than all the others. These could summon materials at will, and they could fly across the world, and they didn't need to worry about dying from the chaos creatures he had made. The first Creatives he made and all their most powerful offspring also had a special ability: the ability to come back to life after they had been killed. They called it respawning. Only four Creatives in the history of the Multiverse have ever had this ability.
He didn't touch his worlds after that, just letting them exist and evolve on their own. He retreated to the End, and stayed isolated there for a very long time, so long that most of the Multiverse forgot he existed.
Then he came back. The first Creator came back, the only unafraid Creator left, one who existed before Time, before Plot, and before the Multiverse. The Creator the Multiverse has forgotten.
And Ender, well.....Ender is angry. People hurt his siblings. Someone stole his Egg and forced it to hatch. Someone hurt his Egg before it was even supposed to hatch.
So goes the story. First there was nothing, and then something came from it. Then the Multiverse. Now there is old, deep fury.
And that story is going to be beautiful.
