Slight cussing

Orion's P.O.V.

I looked down at Nix and she looked up at me, her eyes begging for me too understand. And I did. She slowly backed out of my grip. I let my hands drop to my sides, stuffing them in my pockets. "Are we telling the others?" I hoped not. I got lucky with Nix not thinking I was a freak, but the others, I hadn't watched them enough. They were unpredictable.

"Well we at least have to tell Cass. She was the one you almost skewered this morning." I agreed. "I don't see why we can't tall the others. You're special and different. Some people are afraid of those who are different and they can't control. If someone finds out, well the more people who have your back the safer you'll be. If you don't want to though..."

"Yeah, you're right. They deserve to know." I cut her off.

"Do you want to practice anymore?" her hand gestured to the guns laid against the wall behind us.

"Nah, I've had my fill." she nodded, not meeting my eyes.

We cleaned up, putting the shot guns, rifles, and pistols back in the holsters and racks. Her silence made me weary. Nix wasn't one of those non stop chattery people, but the tension was almost visible. Her movements, to anyone not specifically looking, were natural enough. But just underneath was the slight jerk of someone on auto-pilot.

The ranges door snapped closed and we took a sharp right. We followed the light tinkling laugh of Cass and the surprisingly deep throaty chuckle of Draco. We found them hanging on to each other for dear life, tears streaming down their faces, hands hugging their sides. A few moments later they noticed us.

" Uh, we were just ...." Cass trailed off.

" Doesn't matter, we're leaving." Nix's voice was brusque. Their eyes went wide. She didn't see. Her eyes were focused elsewhere, on something only she could see. Without a word she walked out. I jerked my head to the side, indicating for Draco and Cass to follow.

Getting Aaron to leave was a huge ordeal. At first he said give him five more minutes. Five turned into fifteen. Then he proceeded to ignore us, firing off multiple shots when one of us began to talk. Finally, Nix marched up to him and grabbed his arm in a death grip. She brought his head to where his ear was right next to her mouth. She whispered words furiously in his ear. I slightly cocked my head to the side, trying to listen in. All I could make out were, " Stop .....drug...... plans need........... a big baby!" We left seven minutes later.

Aries' P.O.V.

I vaguely heard the others come in. I narrowed my eyes at the target about 200 yards away. Breath in, ... out, .... Breath in, .... out. 3...2...1. I let lose about twelve shots each hitting the bulls eye, one after the other. The others wanted to go home. I didn't. Weapons called to me and they just felt right in my hands. I had this overwhelming sense of power when I had a weapon. Didn't matter what it was and after my first try I was an expert. Nix called it my addiction. I could never seem to have enough will power to set down the gun, spear, knife, bow, slingshot, it was like a piece of my soul was gone when they were out of my reach.

My forearm was being crushed. I glanced down into the eyes of Nix. Her pupils were dilated and I almost literally felt her adrenalin pumping in her veins. I had to crouch, so my arm wouldn't be ripped out of its socket.

"Stop acting like a druggie! Put the damn gun down and come on. I-I have found something out and plans need to be made. This is serious so don't be a jackass for once or a big baby!" Her words hit home and the gun slid from my hands.

Nix was nearly vibrating from uncontained energy. We left and there was that sense of loss deep in my chest.

Twenty minutes later, all five of us sat at a diner about ten minutes away from the shooting range. " A double cheese burger, large fries, onion rings, and a extra large cherry coke." I was the last one to order, the beach blond waitress bouncing to the kitchen to give the cook our orders.

"So, I should've asked earlier, but did you find out what you needed?'' Cass leaned over the table to look at Nix.

"Yeah and well it's kinda big." from there the two dived into the the story of Orion and the connection. Draco, Cass, and I sat there unable to find the words to express our shock. Our food had arived a while ago, but it sat cold and untouched.

"Oh, and there is one more thing." Ryan was pointedly staring at the lisence plate on the wall beside him. "My name isn't Ryan, it's O-ryan" It figures.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 9:06 pm ~~~~~~~~ Later that night ~~~~~~~~~~
Draco's P.O.V.
I was walking past Aarons room, on the way to the bathroom when I heard voices. Me being the idiot that I am, I listened in.
"We don't know who else knows about this! For all we know tomorrow one or all of us could be dead!" It was a girl, definatly
"Don't you think you are being over dramatic? A little cliche?" That was Aaron.
"If it can be imagined, it's possible! And you can't say what happened to Orion was natraul. He, I may not know him well, but I trust him and so does Draco. We need to be cautious for our sakes and his. I know you don't like him, but even if this becomes dangerous we can't just kick him to the curb!'' It was Nix and she was defending Orion.
"Alright," It was the first word said for about ten minutes. "but, if your hurt of killed, his ass is dead."
"Wow, you're such a great brother.'' He sarcasm was nice and clear.
I heard footsteps coming closer to the door and I scrambled back. I was up and down the hallway in a flash. All I could think about that night was.... what was going to happen to us?
