"Okay buddy, just one more for the birdie" Brooke whispers to herself as she gets ready to take another photo with her phone.
Brooke was an attractive woman, olive complexion, brunette hair pulled up into a ponytail, Toronto Blue Jay's ball cap on and her eyes covered by a pair of sunglasses which she occasionally lowered to get a look at her perp. She watches the well dressed business man, Rob Reynolds, that she had been assigned to follow. Just as she's about to snap the photo a large body steps in her view, quickly flashing her a badge then taking a seat at her table. She quickly turns her attention to the uninvited guest. Before her sits a ruggedly handsome, buff samoan, hair pulled back in a bun wearing jeans, t-shirt and black leather jacket.
"Excuse me, do we have a problem here?" She asks as politely as she can. "Better yet, do I know you?"
"No problem and I can't say that you know me Detective Duncan but I however know who you are and what you're doing." The guy says in a husky voice.
"And what is it that I'm doing?" She asks all snarky.
"You're doing a lousy job of following Mr Reynolds. He knows you're on his tail. Why do you think he came here and not to the hotel?" He says cockily as he leans back in his chair.
Brooke lowers her glasses half way to look over the top of them, revealing a pair of turquoise eyes that captive those who look at them.
"Just who the hell do you think you are?" She says angrily.
"Your new partner Detective Ben Turner."
"Nope, sorry don't think so, I don't do partners. Never have, never will. Everyone knows that."
"Hate to break it to you but you do now." Ben leans forward, pulling an envelope out of his jacket and throws it on the table. It slides off the table.
"Cut!" Marcus yells.
"Shit, sorry man. Guess I used too much force." Ben says. He gets to his feet and retrieves the envelope. With it in hand he turns back around to look at Brooke. He extends his hand out to her to which she stands and takes his hand in hers. "Joe Anoa'i, pleasure to meet me."
"Wow! Joe Anoa'i, the big dog Roman Reigns. I can't believe I'm doing a movie with the Roman Reigns." She pulls off her sunglasses completely with her free hand, while her other hand holds his hand and she looks into his brown eyes.
He tilts his head while looking into her eyes. " And you are?"
"Oh god where are my manners, Brooke, Brooke Evans." Brooke says as she pulls her hand away and then covers her face with both hands from embarrassment.
Joe grabs her wrists and pulls her hands down, "no need to get embarrassed baby girl. Don't want you hiding those beautiful eyes."
Brooke blushes at Joe as Marcus the director stands next to them clearing his throat.
"Great, great. Meet and greet done, now get back to your places."
Joe, with envelope in hand, takes his seat as does Brooke, who places her sunglasses back on, halfway.
"Now Joe, how about we gently slide the envelope across the table with our hand this time." Marcus says pretty much talking down to Joe.
"Got it." Joe says.
"Action." Marcus yells.
Joe slides the envelope across the table with his hand then pulls back.
"What's this?" Brooke says looking at him.
"Your new orders from upstairs." Joe sits back and folds his arms across his chest as Brooke opens the envelope and looks over its contents.
"Jesus hell."
