The Endless Trail

Chapter 1 - The beginning

Starlights' point of view 

"Bitch! I'm not going to get in trouble because of you!" sam whispered as quietly as he could.

 "I can't wait, sam, I just can't wait for a day that will never come!" I said in distress as I break into the captain's quarters.

"My dad's gonna kill me!" sam murmured as he dropped his head into his hands." Well, don't you want to know what happened to those missing passengers that were on board?"I said a bit anxious "no" sam said shaking his head side to side viciously.

We have been missing passengers ever since we came to this ship and I'm gonna find out why! When I break into the captain's quarters, I'm gonna look at the record files and find out what's going on here! "Ok, I'm gonna go in and get the records. Once I get them we can go to our rooms and look at them tomorrow" I ordered. I pick locked the door and unlock it, then slowly crept in. "And remember if someone comes, let me know!"I whispered as quietly as I could, I slowly crept towards the files. Arlo looked at me for a couple of seconds but then nodded as he waited at the door. I crept in and there it was. The files. I reached out for it when I suddenly felt a warm feeling grip my shoulder. I turn around to see the captain looking directly at me! "Shi-..."

I'm starlight a creature known as a stargazer, So I bet you're wondering how I got into this sticky situation. It all started when I was about 9 years old when our planet was sucked up into a black hole. I still remember the screams and all the chaos going on. My Mother's desperate voice telling me to stay close that night still rings in my ear to this day. I had gotten into a dumb fight with my father only a few hours before the unthinkable happened. I regret everything. The ship that was used to help everyone escape, was massive. But with the crazy crowds at every turn, we were separated. 

Even my sister was separated. I still remember her warm hand squeezing my hand, all though Sapphire was pretty protective of me, I was too stupid and let go of sapphire's hand because I dropped Mr whiskers (my teddy that sapphire made for me on my birthday when I was 2), I carried it everywhere. I remember sapphire crying and shouting at me to leave it and come back but I just couldn't. I loved it too much and when I got it and turned around to catch up to her, she was gone!? 

Not everyone made it on that ship that night but I was one of the lucky ones because I so happened to be close to a group of orphans and they must have mistaken me for one and put me in the group. I remember we were the only people left in that crowd that where allowed on that ship. There was no more room left for the other people. I remember seeing so many people out there, hoping Sapphire or mum and dad weren't in that crowd. I remember a lot of people banging,  screaming and pleading at the door, begging to come in then that was it... everyone inside was knocked out when we launched. Waking up to our planet's destruction was the first thing we woke up to. A lot of our people died that day and I regretted letting go of Sapphire's hand ever since. 

I wouldn't stop crying for my mum and dad as I cuddled Mr whiskers. All the orphans were confused, "Hey newbie you're an orphan, you don't have parents! and how old are you? You know you are a little bit too old to be still carrying around a teddy bear" Shouted a big and buff 14-year-old boy. I looked at him with more tears and rage and snapped 

"I'm not an orphan!" I shouted with anger "Some stranger saw me and put me in your group! My mum and dad are somewhere in here" I screamed "I hope" I mumbled as I curled up in a ball squeezing the daylights out of Mr whiskers. One of the adults saw my situation and took me to the captain. The captain asked me some questions and then told me to wait outside with his son. I approached the little white scrawny boy with blond hair and blue eyes that sparkled in the light.

"Hi, I am Sam. My, dad, is the captain" Sam said as he puts out his hand waiting for me to shake it. I put my hand out to shake his hand but then he pulled his hand away and dabbed "Sike" He laughed with tears of joy. 

"Umm... what's your name again?" I said as I try to resist the urge to slap him across the face. 

"Sam oh and sorry about that. You just looked sad, I was, you know trying to lighten up the mood" he said while punching me on the shoulder with a sweet angelic voice. I slowly stepped a few steps back away from him to get that creepy happy vibe away from me. I really didn't want to feel happy right now, I just want my mummy and daddy.

"Well, thanks for cheering me up I guess," I said trying to be as grateful as I could, I crossed my arms and sat on the chair that Sam was sitting on. Sam just stared at me for a while with a straight white, pale face. I don't know if it was just me but it kinda looked like he was about to throw up or faint, he was that pale. it's kinda funny his skin is white like snow-like stargazers but the hair, eye color, and acts as a day player. My people, the Stargazers don't like the day players. My people look after the galaxy at night even though the galaxy looks like it's night time all the time it may stay the same color but it does go as any other night or day.

But my people protect the galaxy from creatures, black holes, meteors, etc and the day players, well...do exactly like us but in the day. You see, Day players and Stargazers were ones at war but for the sake of the galaxy we all went at peace but the rule was no Stargazers or Day players aloud to make any contact. 

The same goes for any other outsiders no one knows we exist other than the Day players. Our secret remains a secret. But our main rule is to protect the galaxy from anything that may endanger it even if it costs us our life...
