what's going on?

'she has red eyes.'

'what is wrong with her?'

'I heard she can control fire or something.'

These are the things Akai heard while walking down the hall to her first class of the day. She scowled and clenched her fists as she turned the corner.

"Oof!" Someone exclaimed, as Akai bumped into them.

"Watch it-" she said, but cut herself off when she saw who was on the floor.

It was Shakkuri, Akai's only friend. Together they were considered freaks.

Shakkuri had bright purple eyes that sparkled when he talked about a topic he liked.

"Sorry..." Akai said, stretching an arm out for her friend to grab onto.

"It's fine!" Shakkuri said, grabbing onto Akai's arm.

"So, what class are you going to-" Akai started to ask, but was cut off again when Shakkuri fell into her.

"Watch it, freaks!" Oja said. She was the bully of the two other students. She looked like a stereotypical popular girl, with straight brown hair, dyed blonde at the tips, and big blue eyes.

Shakkuri looked at Akai, winked and disappeared behind Oja. His power was a bit like time control. Oja twirled around, surprised, and found herself on the floor a second later. Akai had gotten up and used her power a tiny bit to silently tell Oja not to mess with them again, even though it didn't work.

Akai wasn't allowed to use her power inside school because it was to destructive, and Oja knew that, so she took advantage of that fact.

Oja got up, brushed herself off, and stomped away. Akai and Shakkuri said their goodbyes and went off to their separate classes.

"Okay, so today we will be learning about ...." The teacher droned on, not that Akai would care. She pulled a small notebook out of her pocket and opened it to a clear page.

An hour and a half later, the class was over, and Akai had filled the whole page with tight doodles.
