I lied on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I couldn't stop thinking of my mom. She died 8 years ago, when I was 6. I didn't really understand the term of 'death' back then. Honestly I don't even know if I do now. Either way, it was just me and my dad. Living in a no-good town in a small trailer park in Toronto. Oh sorry, my name is illisabeth, but my friends call me Lizzy. I'm a girl, with no idea how to live. Most times, I learn things the hard way. And others, my dad teaches me. But there are some things that he just can't teach. Thats why I'm always screwing up. Anyways, I was lying in my bed. When I heard a sudden knock on the door. "Hello?" I say, knowing that it's my beloved father. He opened the door. "Hey there kiddo!" He says there with a smile. "Hi dad." I said As I stood up and heard the floor kreak. "I have good news!" "What? You won the lottery?" I said sarcastically. "Funny. No, actually, I found a house!" "What? You're kidding!" I said astonished. "You mean we don't have to live in this hell-hole?" "No we do not! We're moving!" I jumped up and down squealing. "Start packing! we move friday." It was tuesday now. I seriously couldn't wait. He closed up the door as it scraped against to floor. We finally got to move! After 7 years! After my mom died we could only pay for another year. We Lived in a mansion, and then the theoretical storm came down upon us and gave us the worst possible house. It was coloured neon blue and beige. The worst possible mix. I couldn't wait to see our new house. I knew no matter what, it couldn't possibly be worse then this. before we knew it, it was thursday, the day before friday. The days went by so quickly when I found out we were moving. On wednesday dad told me we were moving up town. We lived in Georgeville, a not so well known town. But that didn't mean we don't have not so well known people in it. Up town was for all the rich and popular people. And we were moving there! The only downside was I had to leave all my friends to go to the private school. Atleast I didn't have any friends. I thought. Before I knew it, I was waking up to my dad singing the song friday. At first I thought he finally lost it. But then I remembered today was moving day. Still a little cooky, but for the right reasons. We put all our stuff into the car. I was starting to think that I might actually miss this place. Nah. I thought as we were driving away. I stared out the window, with my mind blank. Rain started falling from the sky onto my window. I saw the rain keep going on and on, it felt infinite. And before I knew it, we were there. It looked amazing. It was a cabin by a beautiful lake. It wasn't exactly a mansion. But then again, it wasn't exactly the other house. It was perfect. I was looking at the lake as I saw something jump. Was it a fish? No, it was something bigger. I tried to ignore it as I walked inside the cabin. It was beautiful inside. Just in the enterance you could see that it was modernly old. I went strait to my bed with my boxes. I even had a light blue wall with sticker birds on it and a painted tree. My bed was small, but comftorble. Me and my dad carried a big dresser in my room. Before I knew it I had everything in my room and I was done packing. I sat in bed reading my favourite book, Conjoured. Before I knew it I was dazing off into a deep sleep. I couldn't wait until tomorrow.
