I wake up to the usual sound of my phone. I roll my eyes annoyed and look at the time. I'm late. As usual.
I get out of bed and chose my outfit quickly. A pair of ripped black jeans with a grey crop top and under it a black brallette with the lace showing under the shirt. I put on a pair of vans and grab my stuff. I exit the empty house quickly seeing the usual post it left by my mom "im at work, love ya". The usual. She is rarely home anymore. Work is like her only love. And my dad quit being a dad when I was 7 years old and honestly I don't miss him. We're better without. It hurted a lot for a while. But after those dark years I've come to a point where feelings are just dumb. You or someone always end up hurt. I made a promise to myself then to only live my life from now on.
I start my car and drive to school quickly. I walk the now empty halls slowly since I'm already 15 mins late. I knock on my classroom's door only to see my English teacher laughing
"Miss Parker, a bit late aren't we?" he scoffs and laughs sarcastically
"yea. Can I come in?" I say getting tired "I'm sorry it won't happen again" I say also laughing sarcastically
"I bet it won't. There's a spot on the back"
I nod and walk through the class feeling all eyes on me. You get kinda used to it. People in high school only care about popularity, relationships and drama. Once they found someone whose experienced all of them, they won't keep their eyes off.
I sit and look around seeing next to me a different face. I keep looking at him until he turns around "Hi. I'm Grayson" he says smiling
Awn. He is actually super cute
"Hey. Leah" I say and nod my head "Sorry but are you new?"
He laughs quietly "yea me and my brother just moved in actually"
I put one eyebrow up "oof a brother. The plot thickens" he laughs at my jOkE "well if you need anything I'm here" I say trying to be nice to the new kid. We all have been new to somewhere. And we all know it's scary. So if I could make this hell hole of school less scary to this kid then so be it.
