The brightest star in the night sky, can you hear clearly the solitude and sighing on the bottom of the heart of that person who looks up at you
From the day Sky met her she always had that familiar gentle smile on her face and those eyes that shined like the stars on the night sky. She always supported him in anything he did and protected him from his brothers. Always with a gentle smile.
"I will always protect you Sky!"
"And I will protect you and all of your relatives! Forever!"
"Forever! By the name of the sky and the stars that reside in the endless void!"
Didn't she know that he can protect her too? Support her and help her too? Was she not believing in him? Always carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders she went against her destiny and fate itself. With a gentle smile on her face.
Sky admired her courage, strength and everything else about her. But why did she always have to go alone against the world?
The brightest star in the night sky, can you remember the shadows once alongside me on my way which disappeared in the winds
Fear, anxiety, expectations, hate, envy, solitude, lust
The shadow of those behind him. Warning him. Reminding him. Haunting him. Being the heir of an entire race was exhausting.
Draining.
And makes one be sick of everything.
The expectations were set on an impossible level of completion. The fear of not being able to please them. The anxiety that overwhelms you and that controls you. The envy that everyone openly shows. The solitude that comes with it. And the lust for freedom.
He had to deal with all of it and so much more.
Sitting in his favorite place on Mount Sky, a mountain he believed was named after him when he was a child, he hugged his knees tightly, observing the royal city Yudaina, the brightly lit city far in the distance with a longing gaze.
It was funny to think that a crown prince would want to be reborn as a commoner. If someone heard his thoughts their jaws would have hit the ground.
"Ne, what is that sad look on your face?", he heard a familiar voice behind him.
It was her.
"It doesn't fit to you, my prince!", she chuckled. Sky laughed as well.
"It's nothing. Just admiring the view."
"Well, the city does look majestic from here." she smiled.
The two joked, laughed and teased each other. And for the first time in forever, that weight on his shoulder all of the sudden was gone.
With her he can forget all his worries. The shadow disappeared.
I pray for a transparent soul and eyes that know how to shed tears
Give me the courage to believe again and cross the lies to embrace you
Then she was gone. Just like that.
Sky didn't know how much time he spent on Mount Sky crying in despair.
No, I don't believe it.
It was hard for him not to forget that fleeting figure of a young woman in white smiling gently at him. That young woman who enveloped her in a warm hug. The time where they celebrated his birthday in secret in a small comfortable shed after having run away from his real birthday party that was celebrated with the whole race. The time they spent crying together. The time were they laughed together. All of it. Can't be repeated. The time they spent together always on his mind. The times where he felt he was free. Free from those shadows.
