Scarlett sighed heavily as she looked through the stable, she was all alone. All the kids had already arrived and tacked their horses up for jumping practice except for Sarah. Where was she? It wasn't like Sarah at all to be late, especially when a competition was coming up.
'I hope nothing bad has happened' the beautiful black mare thought as she looked out past the stable doors at the road where the kids usual would pull up in their cars. As the mare continued to stare out the stable doorway, Button was lead into the stable by her rider Alma.
"Sarah still isn't here?" The mare questioned with a heavy Spanish accent. Scarlett shook her head, "no and I'm beginning to worry, Sarah is never this late." Button neighed in agreement as Alma walked up to Scarlett's stall. "Don't worry girl; Sarah will be here soon. She called and said her driveway was snowed in this morning," the Mexican-American rider patted the black mares nose. "Let's get you tacked up, it shouldn't be much longer." Alma walked toward the tack room only to return with all of Sarah's gear.
'At least nothing bad happened.'
