Mai’s POV

“He’s just being a stupid boy, Maibear.” My best friend, Summer informed me. I met her in year 3 and we have been inseparable ever since. “NO SUMMER! INSTAED OF TALKING IT OUT WITH HIM I JUST GOT ANGRY AT HIM AND STARTED THROWING A TANTRUM LIKE A BABY!” “Maibear! You had every right to be angry at him. For gods sake he was cheating on you! You should have dumped him! He should be the one crying! He’s an asshole. You’ll find someone so much better and they will love you for you. And they won’t need anyone else other than you and you will live happily ever after. Okay?” “No Summer. I’m never gonna meet anyone and I’m gonna die alone while everyone else is happy with kids.” I only just managed to get out in between sobs. Then I just broke down completely. I collapsed on my bed. And just cried and cried for hours with Summer trying to comfort me. I loved Josh. I really did. How could he do this to me? I thought he loved me too. I guess I was wrong. Completely wrong! He slept with another girl! And not only was it just another girl, it was my worst enemy, Abigaile. Now she was rubbing it in my face that they are together now. The guy I loved with my worst enemy. Could it get any worse?! It had been about 3 hours and I finally stopped crying. I sat up on my bed and looked at Summer. She was really quite pretty. She had long chocolate brown hair that went to about her waist and a front fringe that hung just at her eyebrows, these amazing sky blue eyes that anyone could get lost in and she had a rather skinny figure. So many guys had asked her out, but she declined every offer. She wrapped her arms around me and I fell into her. “You okay now Sweetie?” She whispered into my ear sending shivers all down my spine. “Yeah. I think so.” I only just got out as my throat seemed to have turned to sandpaper. “Wanna go get ice-cream?” “I’ve been waiting all night.”

We walked down the carpeted steps in my house and out the door. We linked our arms and started walking down to the ice-cream shop. There was a silence. But not an awkward one. Then Summer broke it. “Hey Maibear?” “Yeah?” “You know what?” “What?” “I love you!” “I love you too gorgeous!”
