Michael just moved to California from Alabama. He didn't want to move but his mom is chasing her husband, Michael's dad. Michael has been running around all his life, being dragged around by his mother. But he's getting to old for it now. He's 18 so he wants and can leave but...he has no where to go. He's hardly got an education thanks to his mother. He's smart though. He's a genius because he's taught himself alone. 

He starts fining for himself. He leaves via his bedroom window because he likes to leave and wonder at night. One night he does so and runs into someone.
