Blue skies littered with big white clouds. The rays from the sun glowing through the window. If I looked down I could see the town below the plane. It looks so cute. It reminded me of when I would play dolls when I was younger.
"Hello passengers, this is your captain speaking. Please fasten your seatbelts as we will be landing in Atlanta in 5 minutes. Thank you for flying with us this evening." The captains' voice boomed through the plane.
"Y/n." My mother softly spoke as her eyes fluttered open.
"Yes, mom?" I replied back to my tired mom.
"When we get to baggage claim will you call your brother?" She smiled weakly. I just nodded and let her wake herself up before we landed.

As we finally made our way to baggage claim I pulled my phone out of my grey sweatshirt pocket. I called my brother Scott and told him we landed. He joked- or at least I hope he joked that he would come to pick up mom and I would have to skateboard home. My brother and I have never had the best relationship and he thought skateboarding was a stupid thing to learn. He was all work no play while I like to play more than work. As the call with Scott ended my mom walked towards me with our bags. I told her where we would meet Scott so he could drive us home.

As we made our way to Scott's car he turned to me and spoke.
"You have a skateboard, why don't you skate to my house." He said sternly.
"You know I haven't learned yet. I've been too busy with school. I can barely stand on the board." I argued back.
"Well, you better learn." He said as he pulled his keys from his pockets.
"Scott." My mom's caring voice echoed in the parking garage. Although it sounded sweet it was still stern. My brother just rolled his eyes and we all got into his car and drove to his house.

We pull up in the driveway and I get out quickly. I bring my bags upstairs to the guest room I'll be sharing with my mom. The walls were an off white color with bland grey curtains. White furniture covered the room making the wall look less white. The bed had a boring grey duvet on it. The room was stale and boring. I put my bags next to the left side of the bed and pulled out a black shirt and some light washed ripped jeans. I walked to the bathroom with my clothes, a brush, and my toiletries bag. I brushed my h/c hair out and put it into two braids. I changed out of my grey sweatshirt and black sweat pants. I put on the new outfit I had just grabbed then opened the toiletries bag and grabbed my concealer and mascara. I put a bit of concealer under my eyes and blended it out. Then I put a little mascara on. Once I looked nice enough I walked back into the room I was staying in. I peaked out the windows. I still had some time before the sunset. I grabbed my f/c skateboard and ran downstairs.
"You just got here Y/n and you're already trying to leave to go learn a skill that can't help you later in life." My brother practically yelled at me.
"You said I needed to learn," I said then ran out the door.
